On mine the cable is broken right near the cable end so the trunk wont open. It still opens now that i have it taken apart I can just pull on the wire. Any ideas on how to reattach? The little cylinder on cable end is stuck in there aswell.

I bought the permafix 725 and unfortunately my plastic piece was snapped in middle. Making it useless.Now how can I fix it?
I am afraid that you will probably have to replace the entire cable assembly. You can sent back the repair part for a full refund.

How do I know if it's more that the release that needs replacing? If the cable is not broken I suspect there should be some tension there but I can pull the cable out easily.
I think you are correct. If you can pull the cable out easily then there is something else wrong. If just the plastic latch is snapped off the end of the cable, then it is usually still possible to open the hood by pulling on the end of the cable with a pair of pliers or a pair of vise-grips. If the end of your cable is loose then your problem might be behind the grill, under the hood.
This helped me a lot. I’m playing the violin 1 part and hearing what the other violins play is helpful so now I know what I’m working with, and it’s a great speed for me. 💜 thanks

Read your eBay listing, would this work on a 2006 Honda civic si coupe?
I don't believe it will work for a 2006 civic.
What I did to get mine off was I lit it on fire with a lighter and put a sheet of metal above it to keep it from spreading, the whole plastic piece caught on fire but it wasn't big and after about 10 seconds I blew it out and pulled it off with some channel locks. It's the easiest way.

I broke mines in the middle don't know if the kit will work on a Honda Accord 2013 has the same exact cable style and same exact style. Do you know if it will work if the black plastic is broken in half and not broken at the base like in video.?

The door on my 2008 Accord Ex will not close. I had much difficulty getting it opened a few times in the pass. The last time I opened it, now it is not closing. will this work on a 2008 Accord EX?
I do not think this will fit on a 2008 Accord.
This Should work on a 2004 accord right?

Check that your cable housing is actually broken before getting this repair kit. I did the disassembly before I ordered it just to be sure. The part installed as described.
