I modified this design a little. At the 4 corners, I used a 2x4 upright on the inside, same height at the two "inner" boards (11.5 inches) with the long side against the front. I put 3 screws into each side of each corner (still pre-drilled and countersunk). This not only makes the connection stronger than a couple screws lengthwise into a 1/2 inch width board but instead into a more substantial 2x4, but also gives 4 corner anchor points for the top supports. I also only used 1 inner panel since i already had both corners. The top supports had 2 corners and the middle inner panel. On my first one, i screwed the inner panel the same way in the video but even with predrilling it felt weak, so on the other 2 I got out of the sheet of MDF I used a 2x2 the same way I used the 2x4 in the corners. Made for a more robust connection and additional support for the top supports.
My brake light, flasher, and horn are not working, could it be related to the fuse?
I would bet that’s what it is, check the fuses
😊😊🤷♂🤷♂ what are the two types of drill bits i need ??? what size is the 1st one the Drill bit large and what size is the small tin one ?
super jealous of your garage floor cuz.
Thanks man, it’s cheap and easy - vct floor tile from lowe’s, cheaper than that paint on stuff
That fella up front looks familiar! Good ride brother!
Might come look at it tomorrow but there's 2 s out there around same price and mileage
Okay sir i have a 2015 chevy sonic and the passenger side trim is broken i have no way to get it off would this be a similar how to or something i need help 😅
Promo SM 🌟
Thank you so much. I just had a gentleman at Home Depot cut me two. Winds up 50-60$! They also mixed up some paint and primer with Bayer black paint that came up $16 additional dollars.... after putting it together at the house it was a little bit off in the front and it makes the game slant up..... not your fault just the way I put it together. At the end of the day it actually works because the game slsnts up towards you as you are standing as if you are shooting off a deer stand so winds up being a better experience for me😂.
Hi how did u hook up lights I have everything just don't know how to power on lights
I just wrapped one around the positive and one around the negative main battery terminals.
Mint video, thanks so much
Thank you 😊
How do I put the handle back on ?
Put the c clip back on the handle then push the handle on, it will lock into place.
Hi! Could you give me the EU messure? Centimeters pls?
Any recommendations on the type of blade or tool to make a clean/smooth cut on the mdf?? Thank you!!
I had a new standard type blade on the circular saw and it did fine, the jig saw had a standard wood blade. Just don’t try to cut fast and it should work well and use sandpaper to smooth out any roughness.
Any chance you would be willing to sell me one? I just purchased a mortal combat 2 without the riser box.
Sorry I don’t sell them 😥
Your the man 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you 😊
Do you sale them?
Sorry, I don’t sell them.
How do you install it back on? I have a 2018 set of seats that were removed cant seem to figure out how to put the trim back on
you should be able to follow the video in reverse, take your time and it should line up easy.
nice
This is AWESOME! Going to build this ASAP - going to make a 18" one though so its a little more comfortable when standing.
Thanks! Great video, Nicely explained
I put mine on milk crates and they fit on there like a glove. It leaves 8 inches sticking out that makes a great foot stool playing sitting or a step for kids. If you are really tall like me you could even stack two more on top for a 22 inch lift. You could also duct tape them together and then dress them up to match your cab. I like the way it looks. I have blue crates matching my Tempest cab
Can you post a picture of the milk crates your using
@@joannatigercub RUclips doesn’t allow pictures. So I have two milk crates side by side long ways in regards to the crates then the machine on top going short ways in regards to the crates. I hope this makes sense. The machine fits perfectly and is totally stable on there.
@Draxxon Lives the crates I’m using are stable.
Scott, I realize you made this video over 2 years ago but do you still build and sell these risers? Or at least cut all the necessary pieces to put together? Please let me know………. I can’t cut a straight line…….hands not steady. Thanks, Dan Hulshult
Thank you Dan, it would probably cost to much to ship them so I have not tried to make and sell them. 😊
Are you making these for sale yet?
Awesome video, I have a table saw with a Dewalt blade, would this be a good method?
Just built a riser using these measurements except I extended the height 1 inch. It works perfectly and I'll paint the MDF semi-gloss black tomorrow. Thanks again for the measurements, that really made the job a.lot easier! Game on!
That’s awesome 😎
I'm 6"2", so I was thinking about adding at least 4", maybe 6" more; is that possible?
Thumbs up for the framed Megamania!!
Thank you 😊
Great video, thank you for the measurements!! For those wondering, 1/2" MDF 4x8 is now about 50 bucks thanks to the pandemic and inflation. However, given the risers are at least that alone, and you can build more than 1 out of a 4x8 sheet, it's still the better option.
How much was 1/2" 4x8 mdf prior to pandemic?
@@BenDunlop A little over 20 bucks.
@@mattthearcadeguy I hadn't had to buy MDF until recently and definitely thought it had increased in price but I didn't know by how much. Do you see it dropping, or this another 'new normal'?
@@BenDunlop It's the new normal, prices are not going to drop on anything but gasoline.
THANK YOU!
How do I remove the manual lumbar adjuster on the driver's side?
Sorry, I have never worked with the lumbar adjuster, I would suggest take the seat out and see if it is accessible from underneath.
Were they easy to install.. I don't quite understand the push rods do you need longer ones with these?
They are an easy install and add a noticeable difference, you will more than likely need a little shorter push rod, you can get an adjustable pushrod to measure, but can probably just get the typical pushrod that comes with adding 1.7 roller rockers.
Thanks!
Is there a way to remove the metal frame the seat sits on? I have a pair in my 94 Silverado and they sit way too high mounted to my factory rails. I was wanting to bolt the seat to the rails, removing the metal frame from the seat
Not without extensive fabrication, Try finding aftermarket seats or seats at a salvage yard that fit your needs.
still have the truck?
Yes 😊
I love that
Thank you man
Your welcome 😊
Oh yes another late 2000s car video ruined by music lol
What thickness is the MDF Board
1/4 inch
@@fkfdfireman ty
@@fkfdfireman I think you meant 1/2 inch
@@3OBTPA lol he needs to clarify on this. Lots of confusion
@@TEAMP1ZZA It is 1/2 inch. In fact, I didn't even see a 1/4 inch in the store. Home Depot would not cut it for me. They said only real wood. So moving that into my truck and into the garage was a real chore.
Good video. Thanks!
the cost of sheet and time to take. Was more expensive than just buying the riser. But it is 2022. Price of wood shot through the roof
A 1/2 sheet of MDF is $23 and you can build 2 risers out of one sheet. When I made the video, risers were in short supply and almost impossible to get. It’s 2022 👍🏻
great video thank you , a question , in your Tron review video i love your carpet , is very arcade/casino style . can i ask you where you get it
Thank you, The carpet is called joy carpets on Google. www.wayfair.com/Joy-Carpets--Abstract-Tufted-Fluorescent-Area-Rug-36-L167-K~W000218253.html?refid=GX528939815425-W000218253_544952516&device=m&ptid=852937507186&network=g&targetid=aud-871898920267:pla-852937507186&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=27192836&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=544952516&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkZKNBhDiARIsAPsk0Wi0p7bIHVjWQENpVsPKqE53QRUG3BmyeSIsLPtk9pF-bjP2JPzniJ8aAjtUEALw_wcB
Putter panels? you mean outer? (measurements in description)
i will have to try this when mine need it
Great video. Thanks Scott!
Thank you 😊
Great video I have made 4 save me big time. Riser at the store they are $50 I got MDF for $31 so made 4 for under $70. Had glue and screws already
Thank you, That is great news 😊
Scott, thanks again for your help!!!!
Thank you very much
I would love it it you have a video posted of you carving the front part of the riser.. is there a special jig you use for it. Never seems to come out right... hand held Jig saw always wants to drift while Cutting
I just use a marker and draw out the line using the measurements, then you can use a circular saw for the straight cut and just jigsaw the little curves.
Is this 1/2" or 3/4" MDF?
1/2 - Lowe’s has it for $22 and you can make 2 risers out of one sheet.
@@fkfdfireman can you provide a link?
I used Scott's measurements and ended up with an awesome product. If you don't get the riser with your unit, simply follow this.
Hey thanks man, I'm going to attempt this with my Dad later this week!
Awesome- sounds like a fun project together. Let us know how it goes.
