Greenling are great fish. Meat is blue and turns white when cooked. When filletted, the meat is thick and every bit as good as halibut. Mussels arengreat bait for them.

The above comment can be disregarded. According to WDFW, any fish caught forward of the gill plate is legal to retain. I love fishing for chums. Never have tried Hoodsport. Usually bypass it on my way to the Satsop. It's unfortunate that the Chum stocks are more depleted in Pugets' Sound's rivers, compared to previous decades. They are underrated as a sport fish.

Bro that is not Tacoma. And it's pretty ballsy of you to film and upload yourself flossing salmon. It is illegal to hook the fish without it willingly biting your hook. You might be able to be prosecuted just for filming yourself doing this.

The past couple years we have had such abundant runs here in Oregon the are allowing retention of one wild chinook. Also this year we had a record coho run on the willamette and you can keep hatchery and wild fish above willamette falls which hasn’t been allowed in ten years!

Well I see you guys are fishing it on low tide!! Not much action right? Not any fish? That’s why you fish it when the high tide is coming in and fish the bridge that’s towards going to Lincoln city and bobber and eggs !!! If you go up to the hatchery line fluorescent orange Corky with chartreuse yarn. Also if ya wanna play with the jacks use some lobster tail or crawdad tail. I had a friend that lived in the trailer park and he was good friends with the warden who lived at the entrance of the hatchery back in the 80’s . Also it’s still early n the season you got til the end of oct. when it starts getting into full swing and usually the 2nd week of nov is when the big salmon start making it in.
