That's so horrific man I'm so sorry

I can't understand what you've been though but I called the song this because I've been severely mentally and physically ill for the past year or two. I still have a chronic illness but at this point am in remission from psychosis and panic disorder which were my greatest sources of suffering. I had thought that once I figured out my illness, purpose and will to live would come back to me naturally. Yet even though I comparatively experience very few symptoms, I still struggle to see life as having any order, sense or purpose.

There's this guy I really like Victor Frankl, he was a Jewish psychiatrist placed in concentration camps during WW2. His wife died in Auschwitz, and when speaking with a client who had also lost his wife he said: “What would have happened if you had died first, and your wife would have had to survive you?” He was trying to illustrate that the man still being alive meant his wife did not have to suffer a life without him.

@@forIzumisincefall purpose only shows itself to you after you've hit rock bottom brother. you won't just find it out of hope and fantasy, it gotta suck first in order to find it. you have to get to that point where you need to fight for your own existence, where you need to fight for your right to live, it's only at that very dark moment that God, through your destiny and experiences shows to you the true nature of your purpose. so stop being afraid of the darkness, let it engulf you completely. It's only when you accept how dark your life has been, the darkness you got into, that you can understand yourself, find your purpose, and rise again. You're not purposeless, you're afraid. May God help you towards a right path and a relieved spirit.
