Просмотров 59814 дней назад
In this video I try my best to clean up an old c. 1920 - 40 Case Tested XX stockman pocket knife with slick black handles. I bought this at an antique store in northern Michigan for $30. The blades were quite rusty and did not have any snap. I used some simple steps and materials to clean this knife. I hope you enjoy! I wanted to share a video of the knives I scored this weekend at a vintage hunting and collectibles show here in Michigan. I paid $1 for a couple of the pocket knives up to $15. The Marbles knife is an early Woodcraft with a stag pomel. The real oldie is an American Knife Co Plymouth (Connecticut) from the Civil War era. Watch the rest of the video for more information and to see what else I fo...

How Does a Ring Turn Knife Work? Old Schrade Cutlery Co Walden New York pocket knives eBay lot
Просмотров 8736 месяцев назад
This video is mostly about the Ring Turn or Ring Opener knife that was made by Schrade Cut Co Walden NY. This knife features an interesting opening mechanism…turn the rings on each end of the handle to open the blades. Opening the blades is quite easy and makes this a cool knife! The knife was made between 1917 - 47 (based on tang stamp)... would guess c. 1930. It features nickel silver handles...

In this video I discuss a rare / scarce OLD TIMER that I purchased for $30 from eBay. This knife is a 4” stockman with sawcut bone handles… I hope you enjoy the video! LINKS - Buy vintage knives on eBay ebay.us/mNXUEJ (eBay affiliate link - I may receive a small c...

Wow,great collections of old pocketknives! They are rare now !
Nice collection. In the 70s i had several like the swing guard knife. There was a series of them named after cats.I had the lion, the leopard and the tiger. Thanks
Very cool, I was just doing some research on these and I saw some called the wolf and another called the fox. Mine has the remnants of an animal stamp on the handle but I cannot tell what it is. Thanks for the insight!
That Buck knife from the 70s brought back memories at one time I collected Buck and a few Old Timer brand ( schrade )
Good old USA made knives! Thanks for watching.
Cool stuff! I enjoyed this! You have a new subscriber!
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for subscribing!
The guy was a carver for sure. That is how I shape my carving knifes.
Thanks for the info! I need to take up whittling...
Man, that guy sharpened the life out of most of those blades…
That is a sweet little piece buddy!! I love the classic Case oval shield so much!! Thanks for sharing!
Agreed, most recognizable emblem in the knife world. Thanks for watching!
Defenitly the man was a Whittler, These blades are not all shaped like that because they where over used and abused, This man shaped these blades with a grinder to give them that shape? It's too obvious they all have the same shape except the big ones? I got a Old Timer wood working knife model OT24 and the main whittling blade is shaped almost exactly live these knives of yours?
Wow there's a lot of history there you got to understand that all that sharpening was for a reason that gentleman used those knives for what they were made for those are fantastic items and they have a lot of history I traded those same knives in the classroom in school when I was in junior high
I really liked the 1970 case, even though the blade were quite worn. Is it a available?
Neat old collection
Thank you!
That eagle banner makes me think Parker as well.
My thoughts exactly...and the construction.
Great acquisition. The old guy that owned those knives whittled and those knives were deliberately reprofiled, not worn by sharpenibg. Yoj can tell by the straight line edges coming to a point, in the sa.e fashion on all the knives he whittled with. The big old ten penny nail was likely used as a sharpening steek to put the edge back on as he dulled the blades.
Great insight! Thank you very much and thanks for watching!
As a casual whittler I see the red jigged bone Stockman as being where it's at for detail work.
I tried to have case fix some of dads old knifes ,and they wouldn't do it.
Good to know...thanks for the info!
Love this man!
Thanks for watching! I dig your videos too.
Awesome collection! I like that case knife with the old stag handles! Great video!
That one is my favorite as well. Thanks for watching!
How much would you sell them to me for ?
I am listing some on eBay right now.
That is a box of stories and memories. If only we knew them. Restoration of those would be tough. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Glad you enjoyed it. These knives have a story to tell. Thanks for watching.
👍🏼
Cool find. 😊
Thanks 👍
The 100 Sears Anniversary Knife was my favorite. Trying to learn more about knives and what I should be paying can I ask what you paid for them?
Thanks for an interesting video. The Sears anniversary knife was cool as well.
I like that one too! Thanks for watching.
They look very nice a great clean up job. Do you do that this is my first time watching your channel. Be safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🙏
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found me...
A box of cool old knives
Yes sir! Thanks for watching.
Can you help me get some old pocket knife
Can you sent it to my relative in san diego im feom the philippines
WOW Nice collection that a shame the old collector Scrap it with Vasoline.which good luck in your finding🤓
Thanks! Most of the Vaseline residue came off but there were some tarnish spots on the carbon blades.
Very cool!
Thank you!
Them camillus wild life knives are selling for 300-400$
If he was into carving like you said, I the reprofiled most of those blades for that purpose opposed to just being worn
That makes sense...thanks for the input!
Welcome
Cool video thumbs up. Can't you send most of these knives back to the factory and have them put new blades on them? If so with they put USA Stamped blades on them?
Not sure... I believe a few makers do that including Case and Buck. Thanks for watching!
Cool knives
Thanks!
That's an awesome selection of knives. Congratulations on getting this man's collection. I love the case stockman as well
Thank you kindly
Im 60 years old not much gets me excited these days but those old knives are just down right sexy😅. Looks like a nice rainy day project cleaning and sharpening with your daughter. Good ones to pass on to her someday. Take care
Right on! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed! It was fun to have a helper for this video.
I know the feeling
Finally someone that knows how to clean on old knife.too many would have torn completely apart and chrome polished it.
LOL, thanks! I like to have them show their age. Also I don't have the machinery to polish them up anyway. Thanks for watching!
SSP Stainless Steel Polishing
Thanks!
I think that it’s a very good old knife. In my opinion the blades may not be that worn . The ‘pen’ blade may be a punch -drill because I have very old Christmas Tree Ka-Bar stockman with a clip , Spey and punch blade sans the usual sheepfoot .
Thank you! Sounds like a nice KA-BAR!
I just found your channel. I think the Camp Buddy is an Imperial. I have a Boy Scout that's similar. I just acquired a Bruckmann pearl handle knife with no scratches, no rust . It does have a manicure blade. I can tell it's been used. I done a little reaserch. Your little pearl handle knife may be your oldest of the bunch.
Welcome! Thanks for checking out my videos...I will be posting more soon. It sounds like you have some nice knives there...Bruckmann is great old German maker.
Nice job.
Thanks for watching!
cool
thanks
Nice, thanks for sharing that one. What is the handle material? I have a different pattern knife that age and it doesnt seem like celuloid. Thanks again brother!
Case used a black synthetic that collectors call "slick black" handles. They were pretty popular from 1920 into the 1960s. Thanks for watching!
