I don' think they are similar on the inside at all. Hitbox uses arcade buttons that are wired to the control board while Snackbox Micros use micro keyboard buttons plugged directly into the chips. They are essentially just keyboards with custom keycaps! I feel like they would have had a better argument against something like the Vitrix lever-less controller as that is actually made in a similar fashion using arcade equipment. Claiming ownership of the movement button layout seems kinda silly considering they pretty much just took A,S,D, and the Space-bar from the standard keyboard layout anyway.

Even if Hitbox wins, they've done irreparable damage to their name/image. Nobody was even buying that garbage anymore, but now they've definitely put the final nail in the coffin of their overpriced box. Congrats! lmao

His command grab presumably works like it always has, giving him an effect that forces a counterhit on the next special he lands if he does it before the effect runs out. He probably won't have a blood mechanic, in the lore he doesn't need to scavenge for blood like Nago does because he feeds on his immortal wife. Funnily enough tho his and Nagos command grabs are both essentially the same move ignoring their respective special effects, they even share the name "Blood Sucking Universe"

I agree that something needs to be done about Drive Rush. Maybe not the over spending part, but this game has turned into a “Killer Instinct” combo meter dump instead of knowing the characters move set and basic fundamentals. Game-specific mechanics should add a unique flavor to a Street Fighter game, but not be so important that the game revolves around it.

I think you definitely should be allowed to over spend drive. I'd rather there be additional damage scaling if you burnout mid combo

You should NOT be able to Drive Impact MID Drive Rush, like, You throw a medium or low hit, I start my Drive Impact and eat your punch, you THEN Drive Rush AND THEN YOU Drive Impact, and YOUR Drive Impact beat mine which I started half an hour ago. You COMMITED to 2 action, a hit, and a Drive Rush and STILL get the reward or beating my Drive Impact with yours, that's STUPID

Regarding the first point about stopping the player from spending past their remaining meter, I have to disagree. I think it's important for players to be able to burn themselves out, as choosing combo routes that account for your remaining meter and allow you to stay out of burnout is (imo) one of the most skill expressive parts of the game. I think it would be kinda lame for the game to hold your hand and keep you from over commiting resources. Buuuut, I'm with you on the double drive rush meter dump combos. Not because of the meter, but because they're samey. I'd love to see some slightly higher damage scaling on subsequent drive rush cancels so that every character isn't doing the same Heavy xx Drive Rush xx Heavy xx Drive Rush as their optimal max damage route. It would be so much more interesting if characters had their own unique optimal routes with the drive rush cancel routes being there as a universal thing to fall back on. Regarding the second point. Honestly totally valid. I think SA3s should recover less meter, just to bring them more in line with SA2 s and 1s in terms of opportunity cost. Reducing meter gain is a good way to do that. The point with DI clarity though, I kinda disagree with as well. I would argue that bc every character has DI, and only 2 characters have upper body armor the game is teaching players that armor is full body, while Marissa and Zangief are the exceptions. Additionally, DI doesn't really need a nerf. By using it, you risk more than half your drive gauge if they DI back, you risk getting jumped in on, you could get grabbed and looped, or hell, they could regular parry it and recover a ton of their meter, going from limited options to total comfort while you're -1 at close range. And that's before character specific ways of dealing with it. Ed, Rashid, Honda, and probably some others can cancel into multihit specials on DI for guaranteed counterhits into combos, making it risky to do in neutral against certain characters even when they're burned out (I do this a lot as Ed). Marissa gets a full combo with Scutum, and JP gets a ton of meter and a mixup if he counters it with amnesia. DI is still strong because the reward is high and the cost is only 1 Bar, but the risk is certainly there. Enough that I don't think it would be good for it to lose to lows.

She is a lot like this in the older games too. Very dedicated to her stance changes, somewhat focused on limb zoning, the rekka, thats all in +R as well. The only things different are that the blood packets are replaced with a typical gauge (though i have no idea how the non-command grab stance change is balanced with it) and that she doesnt have the super jealousy mode that boosts your attacks and allows you to use all of the stuff in the regular jealousy mode before forcing you into what is essentially an anti-taunt that gives your opponent a free instant kill.
