I was bullied and forced out of a successful senior career, as a woman and the breadwinner. Lost our home. Traumatised, burned out, and excommunicated from society in Australia for asking too many questions. Still dealing with ptsd, chronic anxiety, grief, which opened up the sealed lid of a life’s worth of regret, unfulfilled marital relationship, deep sadness, and family trauma. Depression makes it very difficult to find a positive way forward and feel any hope or happiness. This woman is amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing and being here. I am so sorry that all of this happened, and I see you... This channel will have more content and discussions around being with and healing from trauma as I am dedicated to supporting myself and others with psychosocial and spiritual healing. You have been through so much. I do hope you find this community helpful and a place where you may feel supported and less alone while navigating through so much pain 💓

Well done for sharing! I used to have eating disorders, and used to weigh myself every day for years and count every macro and calorie! Also had body dosmorphia and bulimia. When I told people the shame started to go and I was able to do deep work to rewire my brain and give myself all the self love I needed and now I have no eating disorders at all for many years and I LOVE MY BODY SO MUCH😁. I now help people do the same. Well done for sharing you’re a superstar. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yes!!! And part time medicine is often more than a full time job. I find people are so nervous to go 0.8... I did that straight out of residency without regrets! :-) How about you? What are your intentions for 2025?

Women are never happy. And all they do is chase whatever ideal they have of happiness. And those ideals change constantly as they get what they want. It never ends.
How about you? Are you happy? According to studies on happiness, it's actually not something that is an outcome to be obtained. I'm curious how you'd define it in your life and how happiness shows up for you. What do you think it takes to be happy in this life?

👏🏼👏🏼 The world around us is rapidly changing and evolving. The more you know, the more relevant you'll feel. Maybe it's the constant fear of feeling left behind or not being able to catch up despite all your efforts. Quite a struggle when you know you're not living up to your own potential. Hence maybe the constant urge to keep learning hoping something would click?
Thank you for your reflection! That rationale makes a lot of sense! I also found that releasing the need to "know" to be freeing when I realized our knowledge is always evolving. I felt this pressure to "know it all," and accepting it's not possible provided me more love for the learning process without feeling like there was an endpoint to master. How about you? What's your relationship with learning and knowledge? (I anticipate your comment may reflect some of it, and I am eager to hear more!)
@@ALifeTrueToYou Very much similar to yours. I don't think the goal is to be the "Mr. know it all" but rather being aware of the topics that piques my curiosity. Not for anyone else but for myself, giving my mind something more to think about rather than staying idle, lost in the same old thoughts. Devoting your entire life to the study of one particular subject is not something that I have considered at this point tbh. It's better to have at least surface knowledge of all random topics that can usually come up during a conversation. Also, nobody ever is perfect. We all have to constantly learn and unlearn, that's the only way to grow. Knowing you can contribute to a conversation and learn something from the other person too, now that's ideal, both parties feel valued. I think the goal is to find value in what you learn and being valued for what you know and share with the world.
Are you interested in pursuing a career as a mental health professional? As an oral medicine specialist, cancer researcher, and coach, I have been asked several questions from dentists, physicians, and coaches who are interested in possibly pursuing further mental health education about my decision to pursue marriage and family therapy. I wanted to bring the discussion to RUclips to make sure I am able to answer all the questions and share the answers with the community as lots of similar ones have been coming up! Do you feel trapped? Without options? Feeling stuck and unable to pivot increased my mental health despair when I was a surgical resident and in the military. When we are exhausted, our brains may not offer us the abundance of options that exist. Unfortunately, this may increase our risk for staying stuck or contemplating alternative means to escape our reality (including taking our own lives). I share my story to provide an example of how my career unfolded... after I finally gave myself permission to pivot. My hopes are for you to see how you, too, have an abundance of options and, by taking small steps towards the path you desire and letting go of what's no longer working, you too can create a life that is meaningful and true to your authentic interests and needs. Worthy of love doesn't mean you don't ever need to change. You should always strive to be your best, while still being you, and remove your natural topic traits.
Absolutely - and many of us change ourselves in order to be loved, abandoning parts of ourselves in the process. Your "still being you" is the key! I have never trusted myself nor being proud of myself nor even liked myself in some way. I guess it is still the same today but I am doing my best to accept myself as I am and to think positively on my life, what I have had in my life, what I have and will have in the near or far future :)
