I’ve never heard of semi leather. What is that?

There are several different names that manufacturers use to try to fool the customer into believing it’s real leather. Vegan leather, pleather, etc. I’ve never heard of semi leather so you’ll need to do some more research. However, the treatment and protection of all seats except rawhide leather and alcantara leather (suede) is the same since they’re all painted with polyurethane.

​@@skillsmydadtaughtme880it's a literal translation of french word "semi cuire", I think semi leather seats refer to seats with genuine leather in the middle seating area and synthetic leather in the sides or back of the seat

@@Shockload That would make sense since that’s what many manufacturers do. They can’t call them “leather seats” legally in the US, so they come up with terms like leather seating, and possibly semi leather.

The best protection for both is a leather ceramic coating. This works for both real and fake leather because they're both coated with a polyurethane top coat. This is why traditional leather conditioners are a complete waste of money on real leather seats, because the top coating sheds it off. Only in cases of perforated leather, which can benefit from leather conditioner because the little holes allow for the liquid to penetrate into the actual leather does it make sense. Best protection is to buy real leather. Fake leather will start to peel off 2-3 years on the upper side (if you are lucky) leather with proper care can survive several decades and may outlive you. I have a black leather wallet 30 years old. There were some perforated plastic pocket parts so the ID can be visible that all fell of. Leather just lost it's colour but the scent is still there. 9 year old kitchen chairs like new. And leather seats on Audi A6 with 760.000 km that still shine like new. Changed just the left part of drivers seat because it was too cracked of constant entering and leaving the vehicle. It is fat leather from cows belly, now they don't put it even in A8. Some vegan nonsense, PVC etc... Feel bad for new generations. Plastic women, plastic cars. Just rims, and S-line/R-line trims with black ceelings for people to see. Just design, quality 0.

@@on2usocom901 yeah sorry little semi off topic. Take the Nivea cream every once in a while 1-2 times per year for real leather or any normal cream and just rub it in.

I'm not aware of real leather dashes except some Italian cars like older Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I would contact the manufacturer.

It's still in use as of 2024 in our office. I wipe it down with cleaner every few months, and you can still see the difference between the 2 sides.

No difference in feel to the touch. Also, that seat material doesn't need to "breathe". It's polyurethane. There is no downside to this product.
