Stockard Channing has always been one of my favorite actresses. Loved her in this brilliantly played role. So, thank you for these.

Love Stockard Channing! Always have, and loved her that much more in the West Wing. If only the stars would align to put her and Martin Sheen back on the screen together.

Martin was supposed to be a supporting actor. Ms Channing was a supporting actor! She deserved at least twice as many episodes! Sorkin was a genius in the writing but kicked too many great side characters to the curb too soon

I see so much of Abigail Bartlet in Michelle Obama. Smart, attractive, elegant, and a force of confidence that can keep the President of the United States in check.
I adore Stockard Channing ....she carries every roll with intensity, strength....and for lack of a better word? Moxie.....She is never acting because she is so true to the resilience and strength of womanhood ...and its innumerable complications . She was the perfect choice for the role of Abigail Bartlett....she portayed intellect, strength, knowledge , power, decisiveness, determination and love without compromising her femininity ....she is extraordinary.

Yup. I fully maintain that no matter what role she plays you can always see a little of Rizzo simmering just under the surface. Brash and brazen, firey and fierce. A tough talking tomboy and high class grande dame who can light up a room with her impish smile or light you up if you messed with her. And like a fine wine she has only ever gotten better with age.
The partnership and the way Jed and Abby complimented each other was outstanding.
Dr Bartlett suffered no fools, took no prisoners and wore the hell out of a ball gown! Every president should have one!
Love strong written female characters. She's not the star yet Rizzo's acting NEVER disappoints and steals a few scenes.
Lord Marbury noticed her breasts! Some of the best scenes were with her and him.

She is quite a “scene stealer”.
It's interesting to look at the first lady and realize she's kinda the closest thing we have to a mideavil (sp) queen -- expected to be smart, well educated, well trained in society, a very traditionally feminine figure, with not much to do on the surface except please her husband and and maintaining a court/household. She's the most powerful woman in the country but ultimately powerless under her husband and expected to play a very limited roll. And then we fill that position with a modern woman who's brilliant and capable of just as much as her husband, and yet the roll really hasn't changed much in it's limited power and expectations. ...Ignore my rambling, I just got a weird moment from my brain.

Dang..... this is a true, genuine, incredible, powerful woman. If ANYONE on this planet is wondering what is feminism.. or I should say who represents maybe...? This is her in a single person. Talk about hitting all the wickets....I have been blessed in my life to have known and interacted with three folks who were on par with this character. Wow.
Louder for the people in the back! Right from the get go, I believed that CJ and Abbey were the feminist characters on the show. Amy, Josh's girlfriend, just never did it for me. Nor could she eve hold a candle to Abbey and CJ.
