I am a longtime home brewer and have introduced the hobby to many of my friends. Every-time someone picks up the hobby we all try to help streamline the learning curve, equipment setup, and reduce cost and increase efficiency. My goal is to help you get better, more comfortable and confident, and give you ideas that you may not have considered in your own adventure in this awesome hobby.
Tune in Mondays for home brewing equipment reviews, troubleshooting, builds\\modifications, ingredient ideas, as well as various personal reviews that required a lot of research.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, private comments, ideas for an episode, would like to collaborate, or just want to say hello; at bedbrewing@yahoo.com

Nut Brown Ale recipe (see description), tasting, and story
I have tried all of these on different occasions and I'd rate them from best to worst. Miller Coors Bud Natural Keystone Ultra
When I had them separately my thoughts were similar (Natural Light being on the bottom) but together Keystone definitely wins
Very interesting mini education on malt liquors, and the tasting analysis is always informative! I’d be lying if I didn’t mention the entertainment value here. 😂
Glad you enjoyed it :-) i have a lot of fun making these videos:-)
If you drink light/lite beer (piss water) it's too late. You are already WOKE!
Hahahahaha
Love the impartial review and the entertaining content. 😂❤🍺
@@nancyb4557 thank you :-). Always good to hear :-)
I agree that Bud Ice is better than natural ice. However, I enjoy them both. I can't say that I have ever tasted the third option
Hard to watch that on a Monday! 😝Nice video man!
Yeah - I know - but really does any day not have beer:30?
Apron😂
“Drinking sweat” had me laughing pretty hard😂
Asahi actually won :-) - and it is the best selling beer in Japan :-)
Loved hearing about the history behind the beers!
Thanks :-). Stay tuned for more :-)
🍻
:-)
So you didn’t know you was gay til you did this video 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My favorite one is the one that's down the drain and I say this as someone who has no problem drinking "value" beers.
Yeah - the style is not my favorite (or even in the top 20)
🤯 they all look awful 😅😂
Well the winner tasted like Budweiser so, yeah they were all pretty bad
Yeah - not my favorite beer type
Iced beer!?!?!? I’m lost
LOL
Love the content and the apron😂
Interesting comparison!!
🍻🍻
nice content !!!
I'm confused by you saying it tastes like sweat. You drink sweat often? 😢
You must not exercise
@@capcaw I do but I don't actively drink sweat by choice lol
Love the intro!
Thanks :-)
I feel like you're missing the cost to chill a keg in order to serve it. If you're putting it on ice, what are you paying yourself for that time.
I am really glad you asked. I can and generally do drink my beer at the same temp I lager (50 degrees). But yes it takes about 8 hours to cool down a mini keg in a refrigerator (doing this with ice is insane). It takes an hour or so to cool down a can … so yes it needs about 7 extra hours - but seriously you have waited for 4 weeks to drink your beer already so yeah drop your mini-keg in the refrigerator at 8 AM and by beer-o-clock you are ready to drink. But additionally - unlike bottles vs kegging- this isn’t activity on your part - bottling you have to be there - chilling you don’t.
hell yeah!!!
❤
Great review! Nice to see you back. I enjoyed the recommendation.
:-)
Just received one but it continues to drip when closed. Does yours drip at all?
Yes, actually when I first received it it leaked - for me the handle (and the screw-in part just below it) wee loose …. Tightening those it has worked like a champ for years :-)
Love the recommendation! -Jordashjeans

U R back! Niiiiiceeeee!!! Love that painting!
Yeah baby!!!! :-)
Useless video
great vid man
Thank you so much, best info I have had on mini keg and shelf life. Your a star
Hi, thanks for the video, I’m looking to do this same conversion. Would love to know what the spring rating was.
Miller Lite always tastes the best of the light beers. They seem to be the only ones actually trying to still taste like beer.
Thanks for the vid I really enjoy doing blind taste tests w/family gatherings. I try to have at least 6 people involved, and it's sometimes VERY surprising how products (food and drinks) get ranked. We all have our go-to's and usually we can identify our favorite out of the bunch. But the others (or if you don't have a particular fav) half the time surprises all of us. Three recent ones we did were fast food burgers, BBQ chips, and dill pickles. All of us were surprised that a McDonalds burger ranked high (none of us go to McD's for burgers). What-a-burger was CLEARLY #1 We were all suprised at how different the BBQ chips were from each other. Lays was #1 for 5 of us. And a unknown / local pickle brand was better than about 8 other national brands we tried. If you want to try a real shocker.. city drink tap water vs bottled water. (you'll realize just how crappy your city water is) Fun stuff IMO
Is all about natural light
Nothing wrong with natty light wired dude
Wrong dude. Natural light smells like shit as soon as it's opened.
Don’t cut it to width. 24 inch will tuck nicely it the top and bottom channels and hold it in place much better. One can also roll some of the leftovers and tuck them into the right/left channels
This is exactly what I needed to see. I am a 65 yr old female. I think I can handle doing this. I want to buy a chest freezer but have no room in my apt. kitchen, so I want to keep it on the side of kitchen. Only problem is that the floor is carpeted. I was thinking of a metal pan of some sort, but this makes more sense. What do you think? Will it be good on carpeted area? I'm thinking a 5 cubic deep freezer. Thank you!!
Yes - you will want to get larger wheels do they don’t snag on the carpet - you may also think about one of those plastic mats for home offices :-)

Light beer and N/a beer. It's all just like spare ribs without the meat
Hahahahaha
are you try to tell us a secret or what ? I can't hear any things
I love the honesty of your reviews and also appreciate the “live” results of your testing! Also you must clean up really well 😂 bec your space always looks spotless!
Hahaha yeah - well I am getting my experience cleaning than anything else :-) but also I have help ;-).
swishing the beer in your mouth is not how you taste a brew LOL
Agree 100% trying different beers and this miller light has to be one of the worse beers I’ve ever tasted along with nattys
A descending order of over priced carbonated piss water.
Hahahaha
Dude, speak up.
Sounds like a lot of pain there... what were your ingredients? (no fruits added?)
No fruits - it was 12.12 lbs grain (2-row) zzz 7 gal of water, 1.1 oz Saaz (1 hour), and 1.1 oz Willamette at 5 minutes to the end. This was the third keg from the dry hop experiment… I am floored - no idea where the sourness came from
@@b.e.d.brewing3909 Just thinking here (as I am not an expert on this), but, could the excess CO2 pressure push more of the reaction toward carbonic acid? Do you have a way to check pH of your brew?
Could be - I do have some test strips I can use … I was thinking about wild yeast (which almost certainly had some time to work.)
@@b.e.d.brewing3909 I would be curious what the pH strip reads...if you still have the batch
I do :-). I’ll grab some out a little later and post the results :-)
Just got this, i’m wondering can I just refill empty kegs with my bottled beer like blue moon? How does this work with the CO2
Yes :-) you can refill them - you will prime it the same as with the bottles - but you will use about 1/3 of the priming sugar :-)
@@b.e.d.brewing3909 Wait so i have to add sugar?
@@b.e.d.brewing3909 i’m saying say i buy a 5L keg at the store, i finish it. Can i then just pour a bunch of canned or bottled beer in the empty keg and plug it in? also i bought this used and don’t have the Heineken adapter, do you know where i can buy one?
Mmm no - canned/bottled beer would be a slightly different animal. You can pour the beer into it - however it is less expensive to just purchase the 5L kegs full of beer. A few caveats - the more beer is exposed the more change of infection. You will need to clean and sanitize the keg - or you will have mold, mildew, and a whole bunch of other things that will ruin your beer.
@@b.e.d.brewing3909 Understood, unfortunately where I’m at we’re limited to only like two options of 5L beer we can get. Thank you!
Can you please provide a link to the insulation material used
Here is a link to the 24” - I bought it in person at Home Depot - but it does not appear on their site right now: Reflectix BP24010 Series Foil Insulation, 24 in. x 10 ft a.co/d/0MARTDO
Totally confused by the ending. Mich Ultra comes in first and you say you’re going to buy Keystone.
Cost :-) for me the value proposition points to Keystone :-)
Cost :-) for me the value proposition points to Keystone :-)
He said that number 5, which is Keystone was the winner, the clear choice. Watch it again
@@victordepatto5593 Which do you like best?
@@jeffweber8244 i’m sorry that my comment looks like I was being a wise ass to you. I really wasn’t. Personally, I like Bud Light the best but I do like Keystone, so I buy Keystone because it’s cheaper
