My father, who worked as a DJ, back in the 1970's first introduced me to Old Time Radio as it was a part of his show programming. I was in awe of how these shows could create images in the mind. From then on, OTR has been a part of my life and who I am. Much of my words and slang would get strange looks from my teenage counterparts. OTR will always be a part of me. I hope you'll stop by and tell me your stories of Old Time Radio. Please enjoy and join the conversation.

Raymond Burr as "Chief Ed Backstrand".
At the time, NBC shifted "DRAGNET" several times on their schedule before it found a sponsor a few weeks later. This was heard on Saturdays at 7:30pm(et).
Thank you crazy Old bearded Guy.

Great channel. I loved That's Incredible. Do you have any episodes from Sept 1981, Feb 1982, March 1982 and January 1984? I can narrow down the air dates / guests. Thank you for posting it was a really amazing program. The other programs on your channel are also great. 1980's tv was awesome.
Wow! Thanks for the huge compliment! I'm glad you enjoy the channel. That show is hard to find. The network didn't save any of them. ✌️😁

@@littlefreddie5224 Wow! This one connection makes posting the video well worth while. Thank you so much for the awesome comment! I can't wait to hear what you have from that era. I remember sitting in the booth with him during many shows. I wish I could find a recording of the radio play he wrote and stared in with my mother Misty and his best friend and neighbor in Sierra Madre Canyon, Black Steve. Good time's indeed. I have a few other videos from that period. Be sure to check them out. ✌️😎

I remember watching this on USA Up All Night. really cool to see the uncensored version.
Very cool indeed! I have yet to watch it, but I will soon. I haven't seen it since then either. I love digging these old movies up! This week it's "Good Against Evil." should be fun.
As heard on Fridays at 8pm(et).
The forerunner of the modern cassette tape. However, unlike Philips' smaller "Compact Cassette" (introduced in 1962, and widely available the following year), RCA's cartridge tape and players were not successful. The availablility of players- and a limited choice of pre-recorded music cartridges- led them to discontinue them commercially in 1964. Educational and business concerns used those tapes through the end of the decade.
Very knowledgeable comment Dude! Keep it coming. 🥰
Thanks! 😃
Always feels seeing classic National Geographic films being posted here. People today just don’t know what they’re missing out on. THIS is the REAL National Geographic, NOT all that current crap that airing today. Thanks so much for the post. Hope you can find some more old school NG films for future viewers to see. Once again, thank you so much. 😃👏

The script was originally presented on "DIMENSION X" on August 9, 1951- but the original beginning and ending (as written by Ray Bradbury) was changed for this version {apparently, NBC demanded it}. 23:53- "Convicts tell their true stories on 'THE LOSER'- tonight, over most NBC radio stations." **chimes**
22:52- "Next week, 'X MINUS ONE' will present 'The Martian Death March', by Ernest Kinoy. The story of what *could* happen, when man colonizes Mars......and the Martian natives are subjected to inhumanity......and certain death..........that's next week, on--- 'X-x-x-x.....MINUS-minus-minus-minus.....ONE-one-one-one'..........." "Enjoy TED HEATH and his music..........tonight, on most NBC stations." **chimes**
The second episode of the series, as heard on Fridays at 10pm(et). The theme, opening and closing were different during the first two episodes. Sergeant. Friday: Jack Webb Sgt. Ben Romero: Barton Yarborough Officer Emerson: Frank Lovejoy
Originally telecast on April 17, 1979 as part of NBC's "SPECIAL TREAT" series of occasional daytime specials for kids and teens.
As heard on Thursdays at 9:05pm(et).
"Brazil's Gift" (1930) was produced by Eugene W. Castle, who formed Castle Films in 1924. Originally, he produced industrial and promotional films (such as this one) until he decided to branch out into the 8mm and 16mm "home movie" market- which made his company one of the leading suppliers of short films {newsreels, cartoons, sports, comedies, excerpts from feature films, et. al.} in the non-theatrical field for 40 years [until Universal, who gained a majority stake in the company through their United World Films division in 1947, converted the company to "Universal 8" in 1977, discontinuing the Castle catalogs and inventory in favor of longer "home" releases, through 1984].
One of my favorite radio shows.
Me too!
Every night I listen to a story. Thank you 👍
I will try to upload more every week. Thanks for hanging out!
@@crazyoldweirdbeardedguy I used to get recordings of radio shows from the library as a kid. Thanks again 👍
@@jessecarbajal8932 me too! 🤣
As heard on Sunday afternoons at 5:30pm(et).
23:50- "America listens most to the *CBS RADIO NETWORK."*
As heard on NBC's '"GOOD NEWS OF 1939"- which featured Fanny Brice {as "Snooks"} and Hanley Stafford (as "Daddy"} in a weekly sketch. Robert Young, host of the program, introduces them.
Robert Maxwell, the producer, wrote this episode- and later adapted it for television as the first episode of "THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN" {"Superman on Earth"}.
23:50- "Enjoy Ted Heath and his music- tonight, on the *NBC RADIO NETWORK."* **chimes**
The premiere episode, as heard on Fridays at 8pm(et). The production budget for this series was SO tight, the organ music was replaced the following week by NBC's production music library cues for the remainder of the series. The network just couldn't sell this series to sponsors.......and cancelled it after 26 weeks, in April 1951.
28:54- "This is NBC- the *NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY."* **chimes**
Actually, this was the "new" version of "DRENE TIME" [Sundays, 10pm(et)] which premiered in September 1946. Originally, Don Ameche was the host, with Jonelle James as his vocalist, and Pinky Lee providing comedy relief. The show's so-so-ratings- and disatisfaction from sponsor Procter & Gamble- caused producer Carlton Alsop to overhaul the cast and format. On December 15, 1946, Frances Langford and Danny Thomas joined Ameche for the remainder of the season, with Phil Rapp creating and writing "The Bickersons" as a weekly segment for Don and Frances.
28:07- "For dishes that shine even without wiping, get DREFT, the greatest dishwashing discovery in 2,000 years! *DREFT!* Procter & Gamble's sudsing miracle! Makes dishes shine like jewels-- towel or no towel! Get DREFT in the bright green package!"
I watched this when it debuted. They got King Herod from Jesus Christ Superstar to play Blutarsky's brother. Dean Wormer still looks like Howard Stern to me
There was a slew of fraternity and sorority sitcoms following A.H., Brothers and Sisters, CoEd fever and The Facts of Life.
