Smokey Robinson was one of The World's Greatest Singer and song writer. Wrote some Beautiful songs for my favorite Group The Temptations.

Smoky and the Miracles really brought it to the Apollo! A lot of record sales, not just from the audience but word of mouth, if you can crush it on that stage. Pressure's on because there were other acts on the bill trying to do the exact same thing.

He really became great when he later focused on developing the smooth, melodic qualities of his voice. This is what brought him global stardom (later.) I've always heard that the patrons at the Apollo were very demanding. If you did not perform to their expectations, you were booed off of the stage. The Miracles certainly gave them more than their money's worth.

I saw The Motown Revue at The Fox Theater New Years Eve 1965 what a show all that great talent in my City Detroit!
