    A key dropped in the oil fill would never get up into the cylinders. All those pieces would be in the oil pan or oil passages. That key got into the engine some other way and would have had to go through the intake manifold, past the intake valves and then into the cylinders. They might have caused the engine death but your theory on how isn't sound.

    • @eddieg.jr.4044
      @eddieg.jr.4044 8 дней назад

      I respectfully disagree. You are obviously not familiar with the 4.0L inline 6 cylinder Jeep motor. The cylinders are not “UP” from the oil fill. They are directly BELOW. And every piece of key easily fits by the valve stems. Thank you for your input, however incorrect it is.

    • @DATYcain
      @DATYcain 8 дней назад

      @eddieg.jr.4044 if your theory was correct every time you poured oil into that engine it would have ended up in the cylinders, also the valves have valve stem seals to also prevent oil running down them and pooling on top of the valves. Really only 3 ways something can get in to a cylinder of a fully assembled had been running engine. Traveling through the intake tract, through the intake manifold, and past the intake valve while open. This would typically damage an intake valve while happening. Some how going against the flow of the exhaust tract. Or possibly through an open spark plug hole. Otherwise those cylinders are sealed off to the outside world. Remember the cylinders contain a small air gas explosion as the engine is running.Anything dropped into the oil fill hole would either stay up on top of the cylinder head near the springs, push rods and rocker arms or flow with the oil down into the oil pan.

      @@DATYcain thank you. I will revisit my theory. Reading your reply makes sense and now I’m even more confused.

    • @DATYcain
      @DATYcain 8 дней назад

      @eddieg.jr.4044 I am to, hope you figure out how the key got in there. As those pieces are obviously the key but how they would end up in the cylinders is truly puzzling. One would think something like that, the key getting into the engine where it could get into the cylinders would make a bit of a racket before it did.

    Not sure. Why no one else caught this.. But the radius is not 8 inch. That's the diameter. The radius is half. Which would be 4in.. u then take 4² x Pi, Then multiply that by the height and that's how you get volume. I only know this from calculating port area on speaker boxes as well as using Radius times Pi to calculate subwoofer cone area... Point is, the volume of that is about a quarter of what that speaker needs....just saying.

    Thanks for the very informative video... we did attempt to use wheels but it was a different set-up that was working but isn't near as good as it could be... I believe that your fix will be extremely helpful... We had a lot of black powder going on from the lid scraping against the metal... I'm sure my husband will swap over to your method now... Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this video :)

    The 3.6 L engines are designed to run hot. The cooler thermostat will only delay the engine temps going up.....the vents do nothing but allow rain in. That's why the sort hoods Jeep sells do not have the vents. The cowl good for Moab version has a recessed induction vent that doesn't allow water in.

    • @eddieg.jr.4044
      @eddieg.jr.4044 8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the info! I was having RED LINE overheating issues. Not just a “designed” hot running issue. I’ve since added high volume marine bilge blowers to the vents (since moving to Florida) and they help immensely. I’ve never had any issues with “rain”, and it rains here in Florida substantially! Also added a fuel line insulation kit that helped as well…. I have a video for that install as well if interested. Thanks again for your input.
