My mother was a brilliant lady and the product of a wonderful family. But to this day her worst mistake was moving away from Knoxville and all that it entailed. I was born in Knoxville at Ft. Sanders Hospital. For the next 11 years I grew up there and became use to the wonderful easy-going lifestyle that afforded. When I look back, I really miss it badly. Are address was 3823 Kingston Pike. And if I had the opportunity I would live there again!

Knoxville scenery is beautiful with the Cumberland Plateau / Mountains to the west-northwest and the Smokies to the east how could you not love it. Knoxville is so much better than Nashville.

I would strongly suggest to anyone who is moving here, or anywhere for that matter, to always talk to the local people who actually live in the area you are looking at. Videos like this are very biased. They only paint part of a picture. Do your own research and find out everything you can before making that major move.

How about 3 reasons not to move to Maryville… 1. farmland is becoming non existent due to developers piling up cookie cutter builder grade homes that you can stand in between with your arms expanded and be able to touch two houses. 2. Schools and roads have become severely overcrowded. 3. The overflow of new construction single family homes and apartments being piled up here has drove the housing market and cost of living through the roof. Utilities have went up per the utility company to compensate for the amount of people that have moved here. Quit advertising what used to be a peaceful town to live in before it gets any worse.

I’ve lived here my whole life…Our property taxes are low, but the public schools don’t pay their teachers. Since the pandemic, we’ve had explosive growth because of videos like these. Our schools are overcrowded and the money is being used to build new schools. Problem is they can’t staff the schools 😅. So if you have a family, you may want to reconsider. Traffic is also terrible now with a lack of infrastructure to accommodate. Please for the love of God, stop moving here!!!

Please don't. We are full and young adults who have lived here their entire lives can't afford this market due to the mass influx.

Good video about the pros and cons. Similar to most cities. As another commenter mentioned id love to know more about specifics about job industry as I’m in aerospace manufacturing and I don’t see much for aerospace near Knoxville when searching google maps. As a native Floridian sick of the heat and costs getting out of control, next time we’re up in Asheville visiting Knoxville will be on my list to check out and see if we enjoy it as much as the Tampa area.
