Thanks for playing this charming arrangement. The only one I know is Guilmant's.
I play some of these... relatively simple compared to her Etudes, and Te Deum, but still a bit of a challenge. Beautiful settings from a brilliant organist/composer!
Where did you get the sheet music?
Midi on youtube ?
Thank you so much I've learned some useful points from listening to you
One of my favorites. Wonderful to hear you play it
Thank you for sharing this.
Very nice thank you for including a much neglected composer
I have a lot of time for Thomas Attwood
Nice piece by and underrated German composer
Wonderful 😃
You should have recorded this on a proper pipe organ.
Superb performance spoilt only by the tone of the hideous inferior apology of a digital organ. God only knows what Bairstow would have said had he heard it!!!
A beautiful and great recording! Very well played! I like it very much! Thanks for uploading!
Very interesting.
That is so gorgeous, and very beautifully played. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
güzel video
Such a shame that JP Kellners works aren't played more. Tnaks for shaing this.
There are some similarites to the Bach prelude in D
It's an interesting piece
A beautiful and great recording! Very well played! Thanks for uploading!
Thank you, my Dad used to play this, and it reminds me of sitting in church listening to him before the service.
Hello! I would like to have the stop list of the instrument you play, please. Greetings from Brazil.
Viscount provide a huge and ever expanding library of stops so that there is a large number of alternatives available for each stop. The set used here have been carefully selected and adjusted. More info on the Viscount website.
Very well played!
J'ai découvert healey Willan par hasard et il fait régulièrement partie de mon répertoire. Je jouerai en audition 2 pièces à la cathédrale de Rennes en juin : matines et evensong... Merci révérend pour le partage
Very interesting. Never heard of the composer. What are the dates? Very orgelbuchlein sounding.
Dame Ethel Mary Smyth DBE (/smaɪθ/;[1] 22 April 1858 - 8 May 1944) was an English composer and a member of the women's suffrage movement. Her compositions include songs, works for piano, chamber music, orchestral works, choral works and operas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethel_Smyth
Studies in Leipzig with Herzogenberg, she met Brahms, Tschaikovsky, Grieg, Dvorak. Her autobiography is worth reading
Alec Rowley the Organist's friend. Well played thankyou
I can't match your tempo for the 2nd verse!
Excellent playing, but man does that organ sound electronic! Is it an Allen “computer organ” circa 1980s?
Thank you very much for this interpretation of my 'Lament'. I gave the Australian organist I wrote it for the choice of three possible endings . . . and he chose the darkest one of all in C minor!
Great pedal reed to solo the melody in this chorale prelude setting of the 'Old Hundredth'! Thank you very much for recording it.
Wow! Quite a tempo for my 'Larghetto' - I don't think I could play it quite so fast without making lots of errors! It has more edge to it at this tempo so it is always nice to hear how the performer chooses to interpret the score!
Splendid! I think we can forgive the error in the correct sequence for the Westminster chimes (blaming Henry Willis who sang it down the phone!). A masterful execution of this tour de force for even the best of organists: bravo!
I have always loved the hymn tune, 'Repton' and I was surprised to find so few settings of it in the publish oeuvre for organ. Thank you so much for recording my chorale prelude arrangement of this melody, which was originally written by Parry for his Oratorio, 'Judith'.
What great fun, Ivan! Thank you so much for recording this piece. In my head, I could hear the incredible Tuba Mirabilis at York Minster . . . and I have the sample set of Hereford Cathedral, which also has an amazing Father Willis Tuba and was the instrument I was playing as I improvised this piece. The English Tuba is like no other organ stop. I can't imagine what JSB would have made of the sound! (I imagine he would probably not approve!)
Really really well executed. Thanks
i like this piece! i think, the quintolen are not played correctly...
3:47 My Favorite One!
This has to be David N Johnson's most individual Trumpet Tune...thank you very much for featuring it !
Lovely to hear this played at the correct speeds. Thank you!
I'm so glad I have the sheet music to this fine piece, and I'm starting this in 2022 on the organ! Can't wait! Well Done
I find it really sad you only got 169 subscribers, with me being one of them. I have been playing piano for quite a long time and I recently started playing organ as well, my big dream. I really enjoy your performances, please keep posting :)
Merci!
Lovely rendition, not rushed, therefore the reflective sentiment of the music appears. Thank you for uploading.
Well played!
Thank you so much. I have searched for these pieces for so long. My dad used to play them at his church. Thank you so much. Great performance.
Perfect playing, i love it.
Very well played, I really like the keyboard works of Peyer. I just recorded some of his works on my channel, if you'd like to check it out.
Very well played. I use Hauptwerk for my recordings etc. But this Viscount does sound fantastic too!
