Steele Pass is high on my bucket list, this video is absolutely the best I've ever seen on the technical aspects of the lower parts of the canyon. Good to see what it's like after the flooding. The spotting is 110% you guys are amazing!!!

We scoured the hills to collect at least half of those rocks a few weeks ago and placed them. It would have been tough without them.

I took Steele pass at night. That was all sorts of fun in the dark. Wishing I had trail lights and ended up doing a lot of walking the trail with a flashlight to check it out. Was surprisingly harder than I expected in a national park.

Lmao 35s. No, you dont. I grew up out there. We drove so many 2wd trucks out there to party. We once drove a 68 nova with air shocks and a straight 6 out there. Over the mountain into the valley and back out, no damage. Obviously, we didn't do gatekeeper, lol. The rangers a bp drive basically stock rigs out there all the time. Yes, they have built ones too for running down smugglers. But you dont need one. You guys are over rigged for thise trails Like people who buy fast cars but can't corner drag racing people on the interstates. I drove a suzuki side kick on stock tires all over that valley and mountain. As a teenager with no experience other than watching to much dukes if hazard. Momentum is your friend. Smaller works better on a lot of that off camber crap. Its pronounced "ha-cum-ba" not "ha-coom-ba by the way

All I got to say was hook up to the vehicle in front. Go over to superwinch and order a recovery strap.

I was planning on going next week 26th-30th but it calls for rain all week. A big bummer😢

Why not just hook up to the white 4Runner and have them give you a tug through the obstacle? Why risk getting closer to the edge of the cliff by recovering backward? The Sequoia was so close to popping over that rock, the slightest tug from the 4Runner would have done the trick. Instead you took unnecessary risk, in my opinion.

OnX says the river crossing is no motorized use is that true? I want to camp down at the river

Bleed it if you have extra fluid with you then vice grip the torn line. You will at least have 3 brakes. I've done that for one of my rear lines before. Since then I've finished installing steel lines all the way around with Stoptech st60's up front and st41's in the rear.
