Rag sprockets are not good drive trains… invest into cnc billet hub adapter sprocket and modify it with key way for no slipping
Hi, please continue ;-)
Where is part 2 ???
Haha you and i would be too peas in a pod. Im also a knife maker also building a board track racer! Good stuff man
so young , so good
Amazing!
What a f*ckn badass🙌
I actually have one of these motors! It's in a Sambron dumper truck & has a lot of concrete splashed on it but if I can't fix the dumper I was thinking it would look great in a Vintage style bike frame. Looking forward to seeing more of this build! Good luck! 👍
How's the build going? Any new progress?
Hey man, I'm currently working on building the frame. The new video will come out next month!
@@rd.blacksmithing Awesome! Looking forward to the new vid!
Bernard engine
Damn this is awesome! Definitely deserve more attention. Excited for more to come

Hi That's cool I'm subscribing right now ; - )
Nicely done video. I did mechanic work on a speedway team back in the 70's. Dont use grinders anywhere near an open engine. We used Jawa 500's. Cheaply made engine with no room for error. Nitro-methanol mix with total loss oil (alcohol and castor oil don't mix). Two or three degrees off on timing burned up the (expensive) piston. Bike weighed under 200 lbs. Direct drive transmission, mild steel front forks, so you could bend it back after a crash and keep racing. Our rider's mom called it all off after he broke his leg. Jawa updated the motor to a 4 valve setup anyway so we where outclassed and getting raw nitro these days would be a nightmare. Hope this might help others...
We want to see more about this build !!!
Hey, thank you for watching! I'm currently very busy with college and my blacksmithing business. But I am planning on working on this project during the whole summer break. So expect a lot of videos on this then!
how heavy is ram?
It's a P3 model (75kgs).
Nice work...👍Please use safety gears man... you are working with power tools, torch, welder,etc... so remember safety first.😊
That's a lovely looking engine.
no intro, no ad sponsor, no nothing, straight to work, very nice, very good! i hope to see more, also first
a lot of hard work but looks like you had a ton of fun setting everything up
Lots of fun indeed! Hard work like you said, but that is all going to be worth it once I get some hot steel on this thing 🔥
cool video. interested in seeing how you finish this.
Good job
What a beautiful job! Turned out amazing! I wish u posted more videos brother, your channel is awesome! Your filming and editing is great! See u on the next video 👍 SUBBED!!! ARCO-MN OUTLAW CUSTOMS (outlaw edge RUclips channel)
Thank you! It's unfortunately gonna be a while for the next episode on this build. I'm very busy with some blacksmithing projects right now, but there will be some videos on that soon. Next video is gonna be about installing my new 75kg power hammer.
What engine are you using, and are they readily available? I live in Texas > USA....
The engine is a Bernard, Model 810. Its 8hp, 270cc. Built by Bernard moteurs in France. I live in Belgium so I don't know if they are available in the US. Maybe take a look on Ebay?
@@rd.blacksmithing just di....no luck but I will keep looking....want to find a 500cc engine similar in looks to what you have there....
@@SigurdtheRyder There's also a company called Timeless motorcycle company. They sell replica Harley Davidson motorcycles and engines which are made with the original patent's.
Only American engine I'm familiar with that is arranged in a similar way would be one of the original Gravely engines which had a Bendix type magneto and was a "T" head with the valves on opposite sides and the mechanism housed much like old motorcycle engines.
Any updates on this build? I,m also from belgium and thinking about building a boardtracker with a bernard engine. I already builded 4 boardtracker frames that got a harley wla bottemend and matchless cilinders for a friend of mine. I still have material left from that project to build one more frame so thats my plan
This is awesome man!! I'm building one myself!! I love that engine!! 🔥
Thank you, good luck on your build!

Watching your next build, can't wait for another video!
Thank you for watching! I'm currently working on some big blacksmithing projects, so its gonna take some time until the next video will be released. When the basic frame is done then the progress will go much faster which also means lots of videos!
I would love to have a little more info on the engine. It looks perfect for this project! I have been collecting stuff to build my own board track replica but can not decide on engine. Nothing looks the part. But this engine is beautiful! Great work!
Thank you! The engine is a Bernard, Model 810. Its 8hp, 270cc. If you would like some more pictures, send me a dm on Instagram @rd.blacksmithing .
@@rd.blacksmithing Thank you very much! I do not have Instagram...but with the info you gave me I will be able to research them. Thank you again and good luck on the build! I will certainly follow along on YT.
@@patriotfour3374 Not a problem. If you need more info, you can always contact me here!
How is this project coming along? Can't find part 2!
Looks like fun but that is a 10 speed with a snowblower motor in it , not a board track racer.
Can't read huh? It says inspired, it doesn't say that it literally is a board track racer. Fuck outta here Nimrod
Looks like fun
This mf RD got arms like King Kong
What engine is this?
Its a 1972, 270cc, 7hp engine from Briggs and Stratton. That was originally installed on an air compressor.
