Pecan Tree Design
США
Добавлен 3 мар 2018
I grew up taking things apart and putting them back together, just to see how they worked. I still create and build things, and I'm still figuring out how they work. I started a company so I can create things for others, occasionally I post about the things I create.

Iron pipe shelves for and industrial look that screams factory fresh
Cleannnnn
It is a good look 😁
How did you cut those? It looks great!
The center cut is just an inlay, the cross cuts are splines. I followed J-Katz on making a jig and cutting out the splines; ruclips.net/video/w5wybH7TXwY/видео.htmlsi=SD__5WVrzcAx18zx
Toilet Paper
That's kinda limiting
Gun
No
Knife
That's quite the grocery list you have there
An intelligent mind?
Ah, but without a medium to articulate that intellect, the mind is just a prison
@@pecantreedesign a very good point my friend
Who else practiced writing and drawing in their head as a kid, for some reason I was sure I’d need that skill and practiced everynight
That's interesting, how does that work? Like a play in your head?
Looks great man! Love how it turned out!
Thanks man, it was a fun build
I would say my two hands. My girlfriend would show you a picture of me!
😄 the period is everything in this comment 😂
this was a fun video that was recommended to me and i am glad i watched it. did you have a cancelation part in your contract saying you still get percentage if they pull out? the desk looks great i wonder how much weight the bottom drawer will have and if it will tip when fully open. the gloss on the wood is perfect not too much
Thank you so much! No cancellation policy on the contract, it was all done through people first, they facilitate small creators and sponsors. Yes, the drawer holds a good amount of weight, my full tower, but it does tip the empty desk when fully out. I could anchor it to the wall, but I don't pull it out any after I got the tower in. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@pecantreedesign I think maybe talk to those people about adding this to your contracts, it is a terrible thing for s company to do to you if you spend money for them. I have subscribed. A little caster at the bottom would also do or a kick stand but honestly I'm sure you will not allow it to tip, is your instagram the same name as here? I'll go follow you over there too
Great point, I always feel like I'm in the defensive when it comes to these sponsors and I don't push back much. It never hurts to ask. And yes, it's the same name everywhere, thanks for the support 😁
Good Job on the Video Deric! Enjoyed it. And getting a payday that get you out ahead on the costs is the cake topper! Keep 'em coming.
Absolutely, it was a huge motivator for sure! Thanks for the kind words
Looks good bud. Well done.
Thanks! Better than the last, that's the goal 😁
Looks great Buddy!!!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it
Looks great Deric!
Thanks! 😊
Nicely done Deric! I like this edit a lot better. Also, the brand really should've given you an allowance to spend in-store, didn't realize you had to come out of pocket for the top itself
Thank you! I had an option to just attend a class and do a video on that, but they were far away and that's rather boring
Great job man! Looks awesome!
Thank you so much!
If that happened at my house "Honey the cat pee'd pn the door again" Id have to answer... "WHAT Cat"
Not in my house
Consider removing the sealer you just applied, and you're using a food seasoning needle to inject urine enzyme cleaner to the foam core, leave it open for 24 to 48 hours to work and evaporate before re-sealing ❤❤❤
That's a great idea, that would remove any lingering odor for sure!
Bet that area smells awful 🤢
Luckily the area is mostly tile and we got to it quickly, every time. But the door just soaked it up since it's an MDF core. My shop reeked for a couple days. I had to deep clean my saw and dump/clean my shop vac... cats 🙄
@@pecantreedesign yeah I do mold and water clean up , i can imagine
That must be somewhat satisfying, going from something so lost to something clean and fresh. Almost new.
@@pecantreedesign it is especially after the rebuild crew gets finished and the house looks better than before the loss happened. One lady had a three fall on one half of a split level right where she was sitting moments before.. now it looks great
Near death experience and now a fresh house, that turned into a great day for her!
How large was that top? I have been entertaining making a MFT style table from this countertop/butcherblock stuff
Off the shelf it was 60"x30"x1.5", but there are other options for size and finish
Damn you deserve more subs this is high tier content, heres one! 😊
Thank you so much! I just need to find that balance between the projects in my shop and the content creation
Thats a lot of unnecessary 90s
Kinda like Vanilla Ice doing a home renovation show
During your break you have to slowly look at your watch to pause.
😂 and I can never turn my head, just my whole body

Good guess, but no.
I hate these things. Magnetic catches are so much nicer feeling. These things feel like ramming a poorly designed door into place.
They are a bit of outdated technology, but still functional
I constantly need to adjust these. I just use a quarter to turn it. I have switch most of them to magnetic closers as they don't need to be adjusted.
I thought about doing that, the kids always pulled too hard when they were younger, but that phase has passed and these work so for now, I'll just leave it be. But magnetic is definitely preferred!
Interesting and informative; thanks!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. I hoped it would be helpful
First
Also, first reply
My first, first! I have arrived... But it's still self park
i saw that
😉
Do it no balls
I'm afraid if I take the ball bearings out, the saw will become quite unsafe 😳
I *saw* what you did there
🤫
This is great. How thick is your MDF?
3/4" , but after completing this, I think 1/2" would be fine, so long as you don't have any large, unsupported sections
Would u mind sharing the name of the spice rack and where can be bought? Thank u. Great idea
I have a few options marked on my "Kitchen Must Haves" list over on my Amazon store: www.amazon.com/shop/pecantreedesign
Windows paint)
That would be impressive 😁
Yep. That's it. That is my shop. Too many scraps.
I was hoping you wouldn't notice I snuck in 😉
Lmao Retail therapy I love this
😜
I don’t save scraps. Or leftover stains and paints. When a project is done, I’m off to the recycling center.
That's the kind of discipled I aspire too! I just need to learn to let go
ouch!
😆
I'm not awake voice.
It's really the "I have people over and I'm trying to not be heard because I'm embarrassed" voice 😆
Can always start a toothpick company on the side
Solid investment idea, and if the pieces are long enough; bespoke, luxury chopsticks!
Owwww so cute
Who wouldn't want to spoil them? 😉
😂😂😂
What type of drawer slides did you use? Looks great, trying to do something similar
They are actually prefab drawers, amzn.to/3w9QSSC Rev-a-shelf makes these slide out spice racks for cabinets, I just built a cabinet around them to save every inch I could.
Technically yes, but if you want a roofin job they won’t accept it
Damn. Guess it's back to the grind for me
@@pecantreedesign I guess 😂
@@OpRidder4920😂
Is that large enough for a chicken coop?
Maybe one very cozy chicken. Not sure how much room they need. Could be scaled up easily enough
Vertical just makes sense
I could see that argument, expand the flange up and down to create a vertical bite into the material
I put the them in at 1.1 degrees
Buble level or digital?
Who cares, plastic anchors suck. Use toggle bolts.
It's all about how much weight you're trying to hold and how they are designed. A proper hole and full drive into the anchor help too
Vertical! Gives more support from downward force. I think. 😅
As someone who has taken several physics classes... I have no idea if you're right.
I fully support the "I think" qualifier 👏
It checks out, you are qualified to make this statement 😜
Does it matter
No, it's just something I think about when I use them.
I’m a super psycho as I don’t even pay attention.
🤣
