It’s quite hard for postgrad students to get a placement for hostel. From what I know KK10 is the only hostel open for postgrad to apply. You can try applying for other hostels but I’m not sure if it’s workable since I was not staying inside the campus during my master study.

Hi I’m so sorry for making a confusing mistake. I thought you were talking about UM hostel and I didn’t realize it’s about UTM. For UTM, it’s much easier to get a placement.

@janebujo @janebujo I'm talking about UTM hostel for master's which hostel is near Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics, and how much is the single room fees per month?

But I’m not really sure about where do the students in UTMKL (where Razak Faculty of Tech and Informatics located at) stay at since I was studying my degree at UTM Johor Bahru campus. UTMKL campus is located at the center of KL city and the campus itself is way smaller than the JB campus. So I believe there’s lesser choice for hostel and much more pricier.

UM is not really strict about the hair color and dress code although it’s written in the rules. Anyway congratulations for your new journey at UM and wish you all the best.

Yes but it’s hard to get. You can try to apply for hostel first. Estimated rental outside could be like around RM700/RM800.

Yes. You can take MRT 815 bus from Phileo Damansara station or LRT 789 bus from LRT Universiti station. You can consider Bangsar area (where you can take LRT bus) or SS17 area (where you can take MRT bus) to enter campus.

I spotted many students dyed their hair and no one address it as a big issue. So I think it should be fine unless you met those strict lecturers who will take it seriously.

Hi! It’s quite hard to get a placement for uni accommodation. Usually UM students will stay outside of campus as there are 2 types of public buses available to enter the campus. Maybe you can try to apply for the uni hostel first since it’s quite difficult to get the placement. But from what I know, the rate is not much different compared to the private accommodation.

Hello! Yes it’s quite safe. I recommend you to download the Apps called Grab to go everywhere in Ipoh. That was how I did during my Ipoh trip.

It depends on yourself actually. You may not need friends to accompany you. However, there are group works for you to complete your subjects. As long as you can communicate well with your coursemates, then I think it’s not really a big problem.

Mostly in English cuz there are international students. But still there are some lecturers will mixing some Malay when they speak.

My friend was driving during this Terengganu trip. But you can take grab easily as long as it’s not too far from the city.

Thanks for your lovely comment! I visited in last October. The weather is pretty much ok. So I think visit to Ipoh in August would not be a big problem.

Hi Janice! Thanks for your comment. I planned to pursue a PhD but I found that I am not mentally prepared for PhD. Cuz I don’t have enough research experience. So I’m currently seeking a job that could help me with overcoming this challenge. I would say currently I wanna start working as a bioinformatician first to delve into the real life applications.

You can explore some nice foods at Sutera or do some shopping at Sutera Mall. Paradigm Mall is also another good shopping mall to go in Skudai.

@sharkvlogsss you can try a restaurant called Tungku Impian, This place is famous for their Mango Milkshake among students. You can also try their fried rice. I recommend this for Malay food. You may also try some good kopitiam food called Hai Yuen Kopitiam.
