Azure Data Explorer (ADX, Codename “Kusto”) is a fast, fully managed data analytics service for real-time analysis on large volumes of data streaming from applications, websites, IoT devices, and more. It is the new member of the Azure Data Analytics services. ADX is a PaaS offering, powering many big data analytical solutions, including Azure Monitor (Log Analytics and Application Insights), Time Series Insights, Windows Defender Advanced threat Protection, Azure Security Center and more.

How can we access cosmos db from python code by disabling public access and using private endpoints? Help needed!!
awesome that's exactly I needed... OPCUA data is really hard to model..
Amazing tutorial! This is huge! Thank you!
Great video. I have a question: if the table connected to ADX has a large volume of data, can using Power BI Desktop to create tables affect the ADX database or its performance? Thanks!
superb! short and clear :) it would be great to see another video dealing with a few top business cases to implement the Update Policy Many thanks!
Certainly find this video easier to grok than the documentation alone including the example data and visuals to follow along!
Kusto Emulator, Kusto client. Were has this been all my life ;).
Is there any Query to Update a row in kusto
Short but super clear. What I need! Thank you!
Loved it. Very well explained.
These ADX Shorts are very helpful, thank you!
very poor audio quality.
Any reason why KQL was used instead of SQL? Does it have any impact on performance?
Great session! Thanks for supporting the KQL learning community.
what are the benefits of separating the deduplication step from the update policy? it consumes more storage.
There is no point if your goal is to reduce storage. The goal achieved here is to have a separate table with reduced sizing for eventual query/reduction in query cost/improved query performance. Azure Data Explorer is an APPEND-ONLY resource. It's not meant to be used for large scale data deletion/removal. To transform your data being streamed in beforehand (if your intent is to not maintain the original large raw data sample) would be to preprocess it before ingestion, such as by using Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, or Azure Data Factory.
Great Demo How to find out set of reports using a specific data, so I can ensure all reports are updated once the source is updated
why does a multi-billion company like Microsoft makes a really crappy tutorial? I mean, she's using her webcam and no microphone? Zero production. Unacceptable. Be ashamed. Do better.
Very usefull, tnx
Looks great, but unclear where data from ingestors and viewers rights and JSON data came from creating the table in ADEX.
Great way to learn about KQL!
Finally! -:)
I saw there was a release for linux now! When is the video coming? 😎
Need to import tables from SQL. How to sync the data between SQL and ADX?Please share your insights
I was really interested in this video although ended up having a stroke from the constant, sudden and vibrant screen changes. At one point I think it vibrated a filling loose in my tooth from the pounding drum. My doctor told me my memory should improve after the concussion has gone although I'm hesitant to re-live this experience.
A more practical projection from query result to an object would be nice
can we alert in this
Great presentation and good workflow for update policies and materialized view creation.
this is amazing
thanks for explanation
pretty much explained
Can you apply AHUB to Kusto VMs? Or would that be on the OS that hosts Kusto? Thanks in advance
"Human friendly query language" = Kusto?!! In the flow chart the "Very small data" question leads to ADX? What?!!
Any chance that this image will be made available to run on a UNIX OS? Additionally, are there any plans to include ingest functionality in the future?
This is exactly what I was looking for
Why no one is using terraform. I mean how you gonna maintain all of this if you won't know what's been done to you infrastructure..? infrastructure as a code anyone?
Looking forward to the continuous data export video, particularly some example business cases why someone would need CDE to something like DLS gen2 instead of just setting the cold storage policy of their ADX table to like >30d and keeping the data in the ADX cluster for the long-term business needs. Nice intro!
wonderful video Ryan and Dany .. very simple and easy to consume
Nice - I will try it out
Poor audio quality :(
Nice Video! Thanks. We are using the follower cluster as well to provide specific data to our customers.
loved it 💯
gotta love that windows 95 feeling every install needs a reboot, Who said that MS can;t bring back memories
What type of prizes?
lots of exciting items in the catalogue to choose, we don't want to spoil it. :)
Great presentation Henning🔥

Is it mandatory to install Docker Desktop and how to deal with the needed licence ?
Omg that keyboard is loud🤣please stop typing!
Awesome. Thank you
Hello, good idea but it's not working with Synapse Data Explorer engine. When you enter the Synapse ADX cluster address it failed with "The cluster URL provide is not valid". Please make it fully compatible with Synapse ADX. It's really confusing for customers and partners that it's working in one side and not the other. You need to understand that you can't dissociate Synapse ADX of ADX standalone in your communication. On customer and partner side this split is not understanable. Thanks for your work.
Hi - the game is designed to work with the free cluster offering since they are personal clusters and thus ensure that there is a single player per cluster. Please use the free cluster to compete - aka.ms/kustofree
Great presentation. Can you provide the source data and code?
