    I like Festool for quality but WTF do you need a digital read out for a depth guage for? and why battery operated? if your working on a site that doesnt have power fitted yet you are not doing ANYTHING that needs that pricy a saw, that hing is only for FINE woodwork

      @@amc_carpentry I cant knock the quality but i'm just not seeing the point. it's 4 times what i paid for my table saw, with a smaller table a less powerful motor and a inch less on the cut depth the only thing i see as a plus is the slide which I can see being very useful but still not worth it

    • @amc_carpentry

      It’s definitely not the table saw you leave on site for ripping sheets of plywood, 2x’s, etc… this saw is more meant for Millwork installs, woodworking, deficiency workers - where you’d me on the move most days. The saw cuts extremely accurate & very clean cuts.

    Nice video! I'm working on a staircase not too dissimilar. Would love to have a voiceover with more info (see below). :-) It looks like you have gaps at the top: was that just so you could install the slats? How do you prevent them from coming loose? What do you use to fill the top gap? Caulking? Any videos/information about the bottom casing that sits on the diagonal? Is that 6 pieces of mitered cut material? Glued on, brad nailed? What material are these? Are you using raw stock, or did you purchase pre-finished slats from somewhere?

    • @amc_carpentry
      @amc_carpentry 2 месяца назад

      @@jpap123 thanks! 👍🏼 The gaps at the top of the slats are a design detail.. 1/4” shadow line.. They are held in by Festool dominos. On final install I will add a little bit of PL premium to the domino mortises. I’ll see if I have a video of the raked wall oak cap, which the slats sit on.. It was a solid oak which I mitred, glued, & 23g pin nailed together. It is fastened to the framing with PL Max & a few well place 23g pin nails. The slats were made by a local millwork company. They are long lengths of 5/8” plywood, with 1/8” oak veneer. They all came long, & I cut them to fit.

      @@amc_carpentry Just found it here (in case someone else wants a direct link): ruclips.net/user/shortszuKI8yOyzPw Looks very well put together, esp with the in-place dry fit. I see how you were very strategic with your nail placement. I see you put a lip on the bottom part: is that so the floor guys can route around your cap, so it anchors it to the floor rather than float above it? Shorts are v trendy with the music and timelapse. If you ever have time to do a voiced tutorial over regular speed video, I'd love to learn from your experience. Thanks again for sharing!
