Texas Woman's University (TWU) is the nation's largest university primarily for women. TWU is a public university with campuses in Denton, Dallas, and Houston, Texas, offering bachelor's, master's, doctoral and online degrees in the health sciences, education, business and liberal arts to undergraduate and graduate students.
HEART Pet Therapy
The Texas Woman’s University (TWU) Police Department has a new pet therapy program - Healing and Emotional Assistance Response Team (HEART) - in partnership with Pet Partners, a renowned national organization dedicated to improving human health and well-being through the human-animal bond. The HEART Program introduces two registered therapy dog teams to provide compassionate support and emotional assistance to individuals experiencing stress, trauma, or crisis.

When I think women, I certainly think "pioneers." And who is this woman that owns this university?

There is no woman that own’s TWU, the state of Texas owns it as it is a public university. The “woman’s” in the name dates back to 1901 when the state wanted to create a school and later university to educate women. This was in a time before universities were co-ed’ed. The name stuck as a way to pay tribute to it’s beginnings. Nowadays both men and woman can attend TWU, and I a man, so happen to be a proud alumni of this school.
