    Saving spots is not allowed in most runs. Since spots are so hard come by it isnt fair to save spots almost a year ahead of time. She should sign up next time like she did this time, i know it feels unfair, but nobody can defer a spot in my experience (i broke my leg) and i will need to just sign up again next time 🤷‍♀️ this is the only way to keep it fair for everyone right?

    Loved this interview! I had the pleasure of meeting Fiona in Boston! We road the bus together to run our Boston 2024. We had the most wonderful conversation about her Boston journey! She is such a strong woman & has such a great story to share! Fiona actually sang to me to calm my nerves! God put us together that wonderful morning! God Bless you Fiona! I hope we can meet up again in the future! ❤️🙌🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

    Thankyou for this. I have a no dig allotment for 5 years, in Wiltshire. I can see the change in the soil from compacted clay to, funnily enough, 6 inches of healthy, worm filled soil. I use woodchips for paths that feed the Mycorrhizal fungi. I don’t know how this can be translated to farming but at least I have partially reclaimed my small plot to natural production. Organic fruit and vegetables are abundant. Freezer is full again for the winter.

    I've listened to, and loved, every episode so far, but this one....this one was my favourite. Amy speaking about using words to understand life hit home, I get it, my head is in a perpetual state of ADHD induced chaos, and that simple act of pen to paper offers some respite and clarity. Thanks, Tom & Amy, great episode!

    My wife and I met Geraldine when she hit the 1000 mile mark. We were cycling on the Via Francigena and stopped to have a chat with her. Later that evening she caught up with us at the B&B, where we shared a most memorable meal with her and other guests. It's good to now find out about the rest of her journey. Very inspirational! I was so concerned that this was going to be a misinformed take, where people believe shearing is harmful, I'm glad i stuck around. Manmade fibres are almost always just plastic rebranded. There's no easy way to make the necessary changes to the market for the benefit of farmers and the environment.

    Hold on, 'conventionally grown wheat' (non regen) is not "full of chemicals" (2.45), that is utter nonsense. If you were honest about it, you'd mention regen's reliance on glyphosate (RoundUp) for stale seedbeds, where ploughing buries the weed burden without the INCREASED use of pesticides. As for blaming conventional farming for gut health issues? - I think you need to reconsider the dogma you're peddling after reading a few books, it reeks of the pious BS of the 'convert'.

    • @jb7720
      @jb7720 11 месяцев назад

      I think that's what she meant by chemicals. And that's the cause of the gut issues in north America along with the way the wheat was breed for abundance over nutrition. What she fails to mention is the most effective way to benifit from not plowing is turning pastures into permanent pastures. The roots are the base for a healthy habit.

    Wool is better than petroleum products. Humans wouldn’t allow sheep to go extinct because our ancestors required warm clothing before plastics. Plastics are terrible anyway…and we are killing off pollinators…so the “but cotton” people will need to look to artificial fibers made from corn.
