The maid, the chef, the butler, the nanny. So that is what I now see him my ex as. A servant that actually now pays me money!!! I have faced every form of abuse from my ex husband. Thank God I am not with him now.My parents and kids have too. My father lost his life bcos of the mental and physical abuse by him. He put all the bills on me including children,bills loans . Shameless man. And then he plays the victim card.

My husband first told me that one share of Money was Mine and then He wants 20 or 30 Euro or more until nothing IS left for me.He Lied and manipulated me and pressed me all the time for Money - in the Beginning of our Relationship He threathened to Break Up If I would Not give him more Money for the rent or one month He withdraws 300 Euro from our Account for Sendung IT to one of his aunt. Going grocery shopping with my two daughters when they were young and getting a phone call right after I paid at the till asking me what the heck did I buy that the total was $250.00. There was no budget it was a bi-weekly shopping event, where I would get groceries, things the girls needed at school, things he needed and maybe something for myself, but if I did, that was very much frowned upon. He was sitting at his computer at home monitoring my spending and where I was going while I was out trying to get groceries and things for my daughters that they needed. If I only knew then what I had to very painfully learn later on. It’s not only the financial abuse that’s horrific it’s the fact he was stalking my whereabouts. After I left him the financial abuse and obsessive stalking only got worse. This is bad enough what is worse is that the people who I thought loved me, when I tried to talk to them about these behaviours I wasn’t believed, still am not to this day, two decades later. Those people who supported the abuser are no longer in my life. If you side with an abuser, your an abuser as well. It wasn’t till many years later I realized, my father was exactly the same with my mother. Cycles repeating, if you are the one that recognizes them, you’re going to be the one that breaks them by becoming completely independent and financially secure without anyone else involved. It’s the biggest gift you can give to yourself, to stop being a victim, heal your codependency and to finally set yourself free.

This is SO important to share. Many women are in this situation yet it's not exclusive nowadays to women. Hell America is in an abusive relationship! People in power have been and are aspiring to expand on its financial abusive. Thank you counselor.

I have seen generational abuse, oertaining to alot of abuse , including. Financial abuse. Im the oldest of 5, and see this with my siblings and my cousins too. i grew up in a middle class family, and rhis was a excellent video. I also experienced this in a long term relationship. Its incideouae abuse, and manipulation, control and power. My cousins husband , takes her baby sitting money , where shes caring for her grandchildren ..... The little money, that shes saved, is in rhe lining of her bra..... So she has enough to by a dollar item at the dollar store. 😮😢 Very very sad Shes been married for 40 years!!

My experience is that my wife is the abuser.

I worked but was tricked into giving him all my money. And he controled the bank account, i wasnt able to picked up anything from the grocery store. When i picked up something i was told to put it back we dont need it. He hide all the money i couldn't buy clothing. I was destitude. 😢 i couldn't run or hide.

Dont forgetthe abuser that is a womanizer, hides his dirty secrets while using the wife to be his cleaning lady,cook, child care. Never enough money for the family.....because he has multiples ladies( some are call girls), while the wife n kids think hes working...and money is tight, hes out with the women.oh but, he's an outstanding pillarof the community, his family, his company....a rising star, getting promoted to CEO or some other such title.

OR your money is expected to go to the groceries that HE eats and not your diet. He feels entitled to eat your special dietary food and doesn't replace it forcing you to eat food that makes you ill or allergic such as wheat if celiac. You are being punished, they are withholding food that agrees with you and forcing you to eat food that makes you ill. It's similar to poisoning you 👀 They don't care about your health, or how you feel. All they care about is eating what they want to eat and feel entitled to everything under their roof.

Your needs are irrelevant or ignored while you are being intimidated, bullied, threatened to stay stuck 😣

They tell everyone outside the relationship they want you to work but when you try to work on your resume or go to job interviews they sabotage you. They deliberately intentionally prevent you from reaching your financial goal and them blame shame you for failing. They want you to work in a low paying position as opposed to a higher paying position. They want you to work but they don't want you in a high paying respectable career. They want you to work for their benefit but not for yours. They keep you sick at home to prevent you from leaving the house. They force you to be their house slave never taking you anywhere or doing anything outside the house, imprisoned house slave.

This is very one-sided. What about the case of the spouse refusing to work (and not being a home-maker either)? My ex kept promising to get a job in addition to his low/profit business but never did it. I had to carry the family financially while he did sports and partied. This, to is financial abuse.

This is exactly why l got my own bank account, had the statements sent to a trusted friend, started selling antiques. When l got divorced, l had money for my own place.

It's also used to keep the household in a constant state of fear. They control all information and tell you that losing everything is happening all the time. It was used to keep my working 2 jobs because he blamed me for money shortages. Of course, he never took an extra job.

Allowing the victim, to work but guilt the victim to spend all their paycheck on food and bills when the abuser makes 4x more than the victim. Accuse the victim that it’s because of their poor spending habits is why the abuser has rules.

My ex-husband was incredibly abusive, and this was one of his favorite things to do. My mother and father also financially abused me. The world is a different place when you see how many money hungry people there are and how they can have little to no compassion for a person, instead they only care about themselves.

All it takes is one irresponsible adult to cause trouble in any family. Especially when it comes to a parent's last will and testament. You get someone who is the executor who has serious financial trouble and you will see what that family member is all about. All they are doing is covering up for the spend thrifting irresponsible spending spouse who also is a louse. Spending money is an addiction like gambling. You're still spending money that you do not have. That is in itself an addiction.

Great video!!! Imho.....Separate bank accounts and make your own money. Did I mention, make your own money? One more time... stop expecting to be "taken care of" and get your own job. This starts early in the relationship. I have always experienced the opposite... someone who doesn't want to work and contribute when I wanted a partner. All this shows early in dating.

I don't know why I just came across your channel. No offense, I haven't watched it before, but wow, this is so accurate. I really appreciate you putting this information out here for people that might be going through this or starting to go through this and I hope they come across this so they can realize the signs because I went through so much financial abuse and I didn't have anybody to talk to about what I was going through. When it first was happening, I didn't know and then I started doing more research because I knew there had to be a name for what I was going through at the time. Because I knew it wasn't right. I just didn't know what the name of it was back then.. And I was like OMG when I figured out what the name was it all made more sense. Yeah, the situation was horrible. I had 2 small children and it was so bad that I couldn't even put gas in my car unless I called at the gas station saying exactly how much I needed and there would be times I would literally have to stand at the pump and wait for him to send me the money. Via app to receive the money or several times he would threaten to shut my phone off on me if he got mad at me because he didn't get his way. Remind you you we had 2 very small children at the time when this was going on. Or when I was at the grocery store and I would be in a line and I couldn't pay until I would call him or text him when I was at the register. And I would have to wait for him to send me the money via an app completely ridiculous. Yep, he made me max out my credit cards, made me do cash advance, never paid it back on the card. Because he would threaten to not pay for other things. Knowing that I couldn't go anywhere because I was staying home with our children. I literally had no family around no friends. I was isolated from everybody. I had wanted to get a job and because we had no family around and my now ex he had his own business and he could switch his schedule around, he refused to do that. Because I had asked him if I have an interview for a job who's gonna watch our kids? We don't have anybody else to watch them. And I asked him if he could watch them if I had to do a job interview. He literally told me. Not my problem, figure it out. It was honestly, really horrible. Like I pray my kids never know all of the horrible stuff that was done. Because it would break their hearts when they get a lot older. I mean, he is so selfish and controlling when the government was sending out the 3 stimulus checks for children during covid, ge literally made me give him the second stimulus check and said he was not going to pay other bills if I didn't give it to him. He was refusing to pay other bills, so he literally took our kids money. Total piece of work. I could go on and on but oh my God, this brings back so many horrible memories and I'm so glad I got away from him but when I did leave, I went through a lot to get back on my feet.

When I was married, I kid you not, I never even had 25 cents in my purse. This was before cell phones. I would not have even been able to use a pay phone to call anyone if there was an emergency. I had no money for food. He had to do ALL the grocery shopping. Our kids had one outfit to wear to school. Yet he seemed to have money for things he wanted.

I had to beg for lunch money for work, small in house canteen whilst he was spending huge amounts lunching in exoensive restaurants and drinking it up in the London city scene

Here’s a odd situation I’m a mother with current 50/50 custody of my 13 year old son and I go to court 10/7 for his motion for full custody which he lied about everything, he has alienated my son on my scheduled visit I’m denied Holidays denied bday and drs appointments denied. He has no grounds other than I moved on and I’m happy meanwhile my poor son is around two narcissists and a liar his dad and grandparents that bash me every time they see an opportunity. He has manipulated my son to lie for him and half the time makes him block me so I can’t get through to my kid and I’m praying so hard that the judge will see him for who he really is this court hearing. My son deserves a safe loving environment and he’s obviously in survival mode living with his father.

All our money is kept separate. I pay half utilities and half the rent till my dad gave me my house before he passed. So my income t@×es are higher because I file married filing separate. Husband put a property he has in a trust for a charity, I get nothing at his passing. Wants me to do all the cleaning and buy the cleaners. And he's hoarding cats so there is constant cleaning. Mine has called me at work and yelled at me over the phone. Or tried to start an argument or asks a question that requires a discussion as I go out the door to work. I paid for furnace repair while he was out of town. He refuses to repay me for half, and has bought himself several toys since then. Years ago while we were renting from my dad I bought a new faucet because ours was leaking and had my brother install it. My husband asked me for the receipt then gave it to my dad when my dad came around for the rent. So my dad discounted his share of the rent for the amount that I paid for the new faucet.

My ex was always complaining that I was spending too much money for groceries. ( I would grocery stopping on Saturday). When we would go to church on Sunday. The pastor was always begging for money. He would want me to write a check for $100.00 from my checking account. I would tell him no because I didn't have a $100. O0 in my checking account.

Financial abuse is when you work top provide to give this person everything and because of whatever she makes up in her head that she feeling she needs and can't see the work you have done for her lifestyle and she goes behind your back cheating lies makes up argument just to have a excuse to make u look like your the problem and then after divorce you get kicked out your own fucken house so you can keep making payments and keep her way of lifestyle the same because now she becomes a victim is abuse....i mean why are men not fighting for equal rights

7:34 you kind of got me here but not really. My job is my kids and making sure they aren’t home alone just for me to make money. Or with anyone who can take advantage of them. Also i don’t want to work bc i know he’d be worse!!! I do work online and i do make some money but it’s more good for groceries for the kids and i since he doesn’t think that’s important.
