It's simple the Government has to pay for your defense - if you are charged -they can't use the fact you have no money to defend yourself - they have to provide as strong of a defense as they do prosecution. And it has to be a lawyer of your choosing not some last in their class loser lawyer appointed by the Government. This would make Governments think twice before pulling politically motivated prosecutions. Ultimately, Governments don't like being told what they can, or can't do... hence the " Not With standing clause" any Bill of Rights has to over come that bit of legal crap.

Ill never understand why the separatist movement isnt more popular. Especially now, who could be happy with the state of Canada right now? We dont have any part in Trudeaus debt. We can call the $650 billion Alberta has given to Ottawa already as good and leave and go our way. Western independence is the only way forward. Ive lived in Alberta all my life and have always had intense disdain for the political parasites in Ottawa. Enough is enough.
