I know someone gave you some info already but I wanted to provide a bit more. The EP that Shatter is on is called Villains. The songs on this EP had themes around the superficial nature of the industry as well as the dangers of things that may seem beautiful. Shatter ties into this with the Medusa imagery in the choreography and the lyrics. Medusa was cursed for her beauty and then anyone who gazed upon her would turn into Stone. The allure of the beautiful was too much for them and at the end of the song they all turn into stone, which is why it ends abruptly. Their songs tend to be pretty deep and the choreography helps with telling the story which is a pretty normal thing for Dreamcatcher to do with their choreo.

I enjoyed this reaction man! I hope you enjoy more Babymetal. They have many surprises around every corner .. no two songs sound alike, they blend lots of genres with metal, and always have full choreo telling the story of the song. Just a fun unique experience and they're true stage generals! Massive theater talent!

BABYMETAL put on the best live shows. The big Japanese arena shows with all the bells and whistles, lasers, pyro, moving stages etc are spectacular but they don't need all that to put on a great show, they are just as good and do their utmost to give everybody the best experience in even the smallest venues where they can't have all the extras. 'Metal Kingdom' was the intro and opening track on the concept album ('The Other One') they released just before the PIA Arena concerts on 1st and 2nd April 2023. This was filmed on the second night (Clear Night). Momometal had been revealed as the new third member at the end of night one (Black Night), so this was her first song as an official member (she had been supporting Su and Moa as a dancer since 2019 - Yui last appeared in October 2017 and she left the band in October 2018) and where only Su and Moa had thrones at the January concerts this time Momometal was up there with them in her own throne for the epic opening number.

This was 11 years ago as well. This was their first collaboration - this is a cover of a song by a band called Kiba of Akiba. Kiba of Akiba covered BABYMETAL's 'Doki Doki Morning' and both songs were released on a joint EP.

Black BABYMETAL was what Yui and Moa were called when they performed as a duo. Su-metal was taking a break before she came out to sing a solo and Yui and Moa would get a rest. This was 11 years ago, early March 2014 at the Budokan in Tokyo. Yui and Moa were both only 14 years old. 'Onedari Daisakusen' translates as Big Operation Beg Dad For It. They were using all the tricks they could think of as young girls (flattery, shoulder massages, big sad eyes, pouting smiles etc) to trick their Dad into buying them ALL the shiny and delicious things. "One for the money, two for the money, three for the money."💸💸💸

For those who say BABYMETAL is not metal, I give you this performance. OTFGK, but an interesting take posted on BABYMETAL REDDIT by VulpineDeity: Take it a step farther. Not only does 'SU-METAL DESU' mean she's introducing herself, it's also her super-hero transformation phrase. Like on Sailor Moon, Usagi says 'Moon Prism Power!' and turns into Sailor Moon, Suzuka Nakamoto shouts 'I am SU-METAL' and becomes possessed by the spirit of the Fox God and transforms into the Metal Goddess SU-METAL. The magical girl who transforms into a hero is a huge trope in Japan, comparable to Disney princesses in the west. BABYMETAL DEATH! follows the trope and it's the moment that they all transform into their magical alter egos at the start of the show. 🦊 🦊 🦊 🖖 ❤

This is simply how they introduce themselves. In Japanese the word "desu" (the U is silent) means to be so it can translate as "I am", "it is", "we are". When you introduce yourself in Japan you might say your name followed by desu. They found if they stick their tongue out slightly like they are lisping it sounds like the English word "death" - they are a metal band, what could be more metal than introducing yourself as "Yxmzii death"? Somebody has found all the occasions when appearing in interviews, on TV shows etc when they introduce themselves by name and put this video together (it must have taken them ages to find all the occasions and then to stitch them all together in this video) - "Su-metal desu", "Yuimetal desu", "Moametal desu", "BABYMETAL desu". They are simply saying "I am Su-metal", "I am Yuimetal", "I am Moametal", "We are BABYMETAL". The first track on their first album is called "BABYMETAL DEATH". There were a couple of clips included from performances of that song. They use it as the opening number in most of their concerts and the lyrics are nothing more than them introducing themselves, it is based on the pun of desu sounding like death. Their real names are Suzuka Nakamoto, Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi (and the new third member is Momoko Okazaki - Yui left the band in 2018 because of her poor health, Momometal became the new third member in 2023). When they become BABYMETAL their names become Su-metal, Yuimetal, Moametal and Momometal

This was from 2012, so you were about right on their ages - Su was 14, Yui and Moa were both 12, nearly 13. 'Headbanger' is a coming of age song. It is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday. In Japan compulsory education ends at 15, so the girl is realising she has to grow up and make important decisions, life will never be the same. Her first 15 years passed by so quickly so she is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget it. A good live version is live at Legend 1997, Su-metal's 16th birthday concert in December 2013 - abr metal has a good quality video you can use.

Good reaction, but this is another song that makes far more sense when you see and hear them playing it live. Live at Budokan, Black Night in 2014 is a very good performance and you will even get an instrumental intro from their musicians in the Kami Band. This is the best song about playing a game that is a sort of mix of hide & seek, blind man's bluff and tag that I know of ... but they are playing it with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre they have in some Japanese festivals that they use to frighten children to behave themselves👹). The growls on the backing track were the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da ya" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀👹

The melody is based on a Finnish polka, guest vocalist is Joakim Broden - he is the singer with Swedish metal band Sabaton. They have real fun with the choreo in this in live performances.
