Hands down the best femininomenon AMV I've seen. I love the recontextualization of NANA's storyline here; AMVs as a storytelling medium is a total weakness of mine, and the story and the emotion expressed with these characters is so incredibly clear. Which is not to say that the visuals themselves are not incredible, because holy shit, there is some SHARP stuff going on here -- that first pre-chorus, with the door slowly opening and the cut to the cigarette being lit, is SO Freudian and sensual is a way that more literal imagery would undermine. And the repetition of the paused frames for "play a song with a beat", and how it transitions between our two leads, is SO smart. I loved this so much, and I know this is a video I'll be studying for sure.
