My goal is to make Poetry available and enjoyable to everyone.
People tend to write off poetry as "Not for them" because pretentious people like to act like it is only for the lofty and academic.
I hate those people as much as you.

"Like as the waves make toward the pebbled shore..." Thank you everyone who continues to watch! I mean it. This is not a stock insert for the description. Especially if you're reading the description, you must be a true fan! If you actually bothered to read this, let me know in the comments so I can thank you personally.

One of my favorite poems, with very few good reading online. I wanted to throw my hat in the ring, even though I was coming off a cold at the time of recording.

TCP Poetry - The Stolen Child - William Butler Yates
There was a Young Man from Kent Whose Rod was so long it bent. So to save himself trouble He bent it in double, And instead of coming - he went!
There was a young girl from Cape Cod Who thought babies were fashioned by God, But ’twas not the Almighty Who hiked up her nightie - ‘Twas Roger, the lodger, by God!
There was a man called Jock, who had a corkscrew cock He hunted from pole to pole to find a girl with a corkscrew hole At last he found her but he dropped dead The bloody girl had a left-hand thread
There was a young man called McClean Who Invented a fucking machine Concave or convex, it would fit either sex And was incredibly easy to clean But on the forty-fourth stroke, the bloody thing broke And mashed his balls to whipped cream
To love, or not to love: that is the question, whether 'tis nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of indifference and by opposing, end the loving that brings only shadows to my door. For the one I hold dear, does not hold me, and with each passing day, my heart breaks more, it seems. My heart's desire knows I love, yet chooses to wound, to rub salt in the wounds of my heart, to toy with the idea of loving another, and to make me see that I am but a fleeting thought, a moment's distraction, to thee. And so, I'm left to ponder, but alas, my mind is made, my heart is sealed, and my love for thee shall never falter, nor fade. Though thou may'st pierce my heart with a thousand daggers, though thou may'st trample my soul beneath thy feet, my love for thee shall remain unshaken, unwavering, and unrelenting. I shall love thee still, till death itself doth claim my mortal coil. For thee, fair maiden, I would gladly surrender my life, my heart, my all.
Thank you so much ❤

Pith. Not pitch To die, to sleep - to sleep, perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub, for in this sleep of death what dreams may come He's acknowledging here that there may well be a difference between the eternal sleep that is death and the sleep from which we encounter our dreams from which we wake from. Do I die, and sleep for eternity or sleep with a chance of fulfilling my dreams, for who knows what will happen if I die. Give up or face it and speak up and act against the tyranny without letting fear or second guessing get in the way of striving for a better life.
Great Job! Great video!❤❤❤❤
Who is Shakespeare addressing his sonnet to ? Can u help me with this query
@saptarshi.m No one knows for sure He had a wife back in his hometown, but people are quick to speculate that most of thr Sonnets were meant for some unknown lover he had in London, where he worked (Male or female)
@TCPPoetry thank you so much 😊
I love your Explanations and Energy. When you assume that our Ignorance about Death is our only possibility I am glad to claim that you are wrong. Study Buddhism, my friend ❤

This video is so helpful! I've always vaguely understood this, but its really helpful to see it explained line by line. Also, I can imagine there was a big laugh during the groundlings line.
Great analysis
Thank uuu so much❤
My favourite ever was a Bob Monkhouse limerick: There was a young woman from Norway Who swung by her toes in the doorway She shouted with glee "Hey Sven, look at me! I think I've discovered one more way!"
You really did an amazing job explaining it
There once was a man from Boston Who bought a brand new blue Austin There was room for his A$$ And a tank full of gas but his balls hung so that he lost 'em I'm not kidding, I heard this one at least 50yrs ago. Still funny today
This man is a legend ngl
you made me fall in love with sonnets ❤️
This is the only vid I've seen so far, but goddam this is why I subbed😂
I’m a former National Theatre Shakespearean actor, and I have to say…your analysis and read is spot on. Your joy and passion for the subject underline the script breakdown. Well done.
The line 'To sleep no more', is NOT saying that if you die, you don't sleep anymore (because you're dead). Shakespeare was actually drawing a simile between dying and sleeping. The implication was that death is merely like sleeping. Hence "to sleep, no more' as in 'nothing' more.
Beautiful explanation ✨ Thank you ❤ 27/05/2024
There's another, much deeper, possible interpretation. The death of the ego and struggle for perfect enlightenment. Now is entirely possible that's not the original intent but if you have enlightenment in your mind and pursue the destruction of the ego (false self) it fits perfectly!
you explained this so beautifully ❤️🙌🏾
😅😅😅I wish I could have followed u cz am writing today
Have you ever tried slam poetry?
