    Sir without clevage how we find out extinction

    • @earthdetective360
      @earthdetective360 3 месяца назад

      To observe the extinction under microscope , rotate the stage and watch for the positions where the mineral goes dark (extinction). Tourmaline typically shows extinction in cross-polarized light (XPL). This means that the mineral will go completely dark when its crystallographic axis aligns with the cross-polarizer, and the extinction will occur parallel to the length of the mineral grain.

    • @earninginfluences9041
      @earninginfluences9041 3 месяца назад

      @@earthdetective360 ohh so we can also distinguish extinction through length of mineral....if length parallel when colour dark then parallel extinction...am I correct sir

    • @earthdetective360
      @earthdetective360 2 месяца назад

      @@earninginfluences9041 yes...when longer length of tourmaline align with axis of cross polarizer it become dark. which we called parallel extinction. If you observe this mineral in XPL, you clearly observe parallel extinction.

    How to check cleavage?

    • @earthdetective360
      @earthdetective360 5 месяцев назад

      Checking cleavage involves examining the way a mineral breaks along specific planes of weakness. Minerals can have one, two, or three sets of cleavage planes. So Observe the orientation and number of cleavage sets. Cleavage planes often appear as straight, parallel lines or sets of lines in the mineral. If there is no cleave of minerals that means this mineral do not show any tendency of definite breaking tendency along weak planes.

      See a tourmaline grain under plane polarized light, you can observe It's high relief, I found it's boundaries are easily separable. You may be find it's faint due to video quality. It's hard to capture microscope's actual view. It’s better to observe own eye.

    Earth Detective makes some very good videos. But this is only okay to disappointing, IMO. You have your own samples--which is good. But the narration seems AI generated, and of course, there is an AI voice. You are capable of doing much better than that.

    • @earthdetective360
      @earthdetective360 Год назад

      Thanks for your opinion. As there is recent hype on AI, we thought to try it in content generation. We are working on details video on minerals identification which will be published soon inshallah where we used human voice and script . But before releasing these videos, we want to upload a trailer or glimpse of our minerals to build up curiosity. First we think about using just music as audio, later we thought, this time let's try AI. As audience demands, we will now stick to human voice and script. Thanks again for your suggestion.

    • @GeologyDude
      @GeologyDude Год назад

      @@earthdetective360 My experience with AI, is that 30-40% of AI generated technical material is highly flawed. Obviously you have the knowledge to correct potential mistakes. This is great. AI does write beautifully, but so many new YT channels are using AI to mass produce videos with flawed information (with essentially no editing). Your channel should not try to be associated with that. Although many people don’t mind AI narration, and are unaware of the flaws with AI, the quality of online videos is going down with the recent surge of AI generated content. There is a trend in America where people are stopping a video, upon realizing that it is an AI product. In fact, I just saw a video stating that AI voiceovers will kill small RUclips channels in 2024. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/O_zJfsOK53I/видео.htmlsi=O-U42_I8IsxHwPq7 . Again, I like your channel and appreciate what you are doing.
