A look inside the war memorial. There is talk that they are going to tear this place down as it is in a bad state and only getting worse. They will however leave the entrance standing. Another part of history gone forever. They were going to repair it but it is all about money it would cost.

What The old Magnum PI estate looks like now as Obama is Building on it as 16/12/21 Please see my other video shot from the main road. As of the 6th of feb 2022 i came across this new article from the daily mail. Obama is pictured at his new home and does not seem very happy. They could of rebuilt the old house and kept it in the same style as the original, now there are 3 new buildings and most of the gardens are gone.
What an amazing location! I can see Magnum here drinking a cooler full of beer after Sharon Stone took herself out in front of him. Yes, he was being morose in character, now it's fitting after losing Roger E Mosely and John Hillerman and countless guest stars. Selleck and Manetti are getting up there too. Anyway, thanks for sharing this great 4K footage.
I had heard this is Obama's home?
yes
Thanks for this video. It’s the first I’ve seen since the original house was demolished. I loved the old house. I thought it was grand without being ostentatious. I was afraid it would be replaced with some 3-story tall steel-and-glass “California billionaire” monstrosity, but I have to admit the new buildings seem to fit in. Anyway, thanks again.
They should have opened it up and sold Tickets to see it not destroyed best show 80s I did not appreciate what we had in the 80s till nowadays
Your not the first who have said that.
Watched magnum p.i today, the original of course . Never gets old, magnum p.i is timeless 💯
I have all EP on my PC
I do wish Tom Selleck had bought it.....this show was/is SO amazing. Really a positive show that's still entertaining in 2024....from back when entertainment was just that....entertainment without all the woke cringe preachiness.
I agree with you 💯
Great video thank you. I'm just disappointed to see that everything was destroyed. For me it was part of the island's heritage. In short, Magnum carried us, this series was from a beautiful and kind time, the opposite of what is done today. So yes I have a little nostalgia...
I wonder how many times they had to set up and tear down "Rick's bar" at the "King Kamehameha Club"? They must have had long standing or renewal permits to take over the park and film for a portion of the year while the show was on.
If you watch the episode no more Mr nice guy you can see the bar in the back ground and it's clearly is not set up for filming.
it's beautiful to see this film and I thank you because I have always been a fan of the magnum p.i series and seeing the places where the film was shot excites me so much, I live in Italy for a day to be able to come to Hawaii
What a special place! Thank you!
So do I understand correctly that on the same lot where the Magnum PI house was...Obama built a house and uses that same location for visits. I was in HI during his admin and he always stayed further up on the north shore.
YES
Obama has built 3 houses In the same location, not just one house. I'm sure he built the extra 2 Homes For Guests
@@1jackvalley580 Thanks for the info ! I appreciate it. Yes the 2 extra homes for guests but also I would guess for his 2 daughters and their families when that happens. I lived in HI for several years and each Christmas we saw Air Force One parked at HNL airport when they came over. Another thought....I'm surprised you can still get that close....right up against the fence there at the estate...because Obama and Michelle still have secret service protection.
theY TORE THE OLD PLACE DOWN
They did the boat house/Magnum pad still remains
Obama Tore down the Magnum PI Estate, what a Putz
😊Thumbs up👍
Thank you
Good morning, I live in Italy and I have been a fan of the series since I was a kid... I still watch the episodes on TV now... if I had been Tom I would have bought the estate. It's a shame that it has been demolished
A lot of people feel the same way. But the house was in a very bad way and was falling apart in places it was cheaper to knock the whole thing down and start again.
@@alohapoppet6107 True, on the other hand the production also tried to save as much as possible without compromising the contents of the episodes. The public's attention was directed towards the adventures of Magnum and his friends in a wonderful context like Hawaii
disgusting... I think friend Obama lost a lot of money and new opportunities. Somehow I think they liked demolishing the villa just to gratify themselves with their "friends" maybe saying "ah ah look at there, there was that fuc..ing building from the stupid Magnim PI series, the one that millions of stupid people liked, ah ah look now I completely destroyed it to build a sh.tty house that I could have built anywhere...ah ah"... Never seen such a similar building, historical and artistic crime...! I'm sure there was no reason not to renovate the original building and use it as a personal and tourist home. Furthermore, the new construction is definitely worse than the local ones...
The old house had to be torn down it was in a very bad state of repair. It would have cost millions to fix it was cheaper to torn down sad as it was.
Very sad
Thats obbumers place!
Yes it is
That sickens me.
A high tidal surge from a storm is going to go right over that Seawall I would imagine.
I lived on O'ahu... about a mile north from Obama's home, up the Kalanianaole Highway. I've been on what is now his property several times, when Eve Anderson owned it. That's not a renovated seawall, which in Hawaii come with ALL KINDS of restrictions which can take a decade to hash out in court... it's an entirely new seawall. Even with a $50 Million/year income, the average citizen couldn't get the construction variances Obama did. The concept that laws are applied equally to all is a fantasy.
@@dmlchannel3262 Obama found a loop hole around the seawall
@@alohapoppet6107 No, he didn't. He was given a privilege no one else gets.
@@dmlchannel3262 It was in the news that he found a loophole if you check.
Prior to Magnum PI, the location was shown in several original Hawaii Five-O episodes.
Oh beach bar still there super good memories Rick and magnum talk drink cocktails
Now is new estate house was old, but magnum fans always remember that Robin nest. Oh my god. Zeus apollo 😅 higgins
Cool to see the old boat house all tidied up but with the same character.

Good morning, true, I live in Italy and they are broadcasting all the Magnum series on TV. I relive the action scenes of the film and the breathtaking landscapes of Hawaii. I wish those who live there to be able to enjoy every second in this corner of Paradise
Hello, a lot of emotion I imagine. You should make a video about those who knew Tom Selleck but also John Hillerman. Ask them what they were like, their hobbies on the island outside of filming etc… that would be very interesting! Thank you for this wonderful video!
I have met a couple of people who met Selleck while he was filming Magnum back in 1980 one of them is someone who runs the front desk at my hotel.
@@alohapoppet6107 Wow absolutely awesome! It makes you want to know more 😀. Thank you very much for all these exchanges!
Good morning, I imagine that it is now difficult to find testimonials. I imagine that all the staff and actors had unforgettable moments.
Hillerman is dead (Higgins)...so is Roger Mosely (T.C.)
Thank you for this beautiful video. are you from waikiki? It looks like a very peaceful town ☺️
Hi no sadly not I'm from the UK Here for a month.
@@alohapoppet6107Wow, undoubtedly an unforgettable stay! It's a dream for me 😊
Thank you, very interesting to see what Robin's Nest looks like now
Looks like the only thing left of the original estate is the seawall and man made cove. Thought the neighbors wanted it gone because it was causing unnatural erosion of the neighboring properties?
The seawall was rebuilt which in Hawaii you are not allowed to do as it speeds up erosion. However they found a loophole around it. Which pissed the locals off big time so I heard. Clearly Obama does not care at all about erosion
@alohapoppet6107 apparently he's not too worried about the "oceans rising" either. Thanks for the info. Oh, BTW great camera work.
@@alohapoppet6107 Exactly. You can't build seawalls no more. Not even rebuild them but of course they let obama do it.
The original boat house (or Magnum's quarters) is still there and in better shape than before.
Thank you for this wonderful video. What remains of the soul of magnum. How Hawaiians view magnum today and tom selleck. Tom Selleck Did he ever come back? Or, did he abandon Hawaii like the series? Are there people who can testify to having known Tom Selleck and talking about him? Thank you so much. (It seems that John Hillerman had a house in Hawaii.
Tom did have a place here in Hawaii but I did hear he sold it just after Magnum finished. John Hillerman had a Penthouse in Waikiki but he sold up and moved back to his home town in Texas where he lived till he passed away in 2017.I'm glad you enjoyed this that means a lot thank you.
@@alohapoppet6107 Thank you very much for this response. I would have loved to see the inside of the house before it was destroyed. Thank you for your images, it’s very good to remember these beautiful years.
@@mathias.grunenwald The house was falling apart the roof was in a bad state of repair. But In my eyes it should have been marked as a listed building. Sorry for the late reply there is a nasty bug going around here in Hawaii and I have it FOR FU.K SAKE.

YES...turd o'buzzo can get the building permit, anyone else??? fuuggeddaboudit!...ever WONDER? how o'bummer the clown walks into office in 2008, worth less than $10,000, leaves office in shambles,8 years later with $600 million in pocket? wtf?..and owns Magnums estate...gee, that's not suspicious
Robin nest demolished that was old manson 1920s built. now new residence there from 2018
I’m so surprised that Robin Masters sold the place. I guess he owns lots of properties around the world.
In the early 1980's I was on the property next door to the Robin's Nest on the other side of the boathouse. This is where I met Tom Selleck and John Hillerman and they were filming "Foiled Again". I happen to see T.C's helicopter and his bus parked along the side of the road so I stopped and watched the filming for a couple of days and also met actors Dana Winters and Paxton Whitehead, was a great time and fun and memories ❤️
Wow great story. best comment yet! I'm going back to Hawaii in Oct can't wait..
That's awesome, thanks for sharing. 😎🌊🏝🏖
Wow
This show is and always will be my fav. Back in the 80's I couldn't wait to watch upcoming episodes, it was a simple pleasure that today seems sometimes hard to find. Great cast, good stories, and great fun. It is sad to see the place go, you sometimes wish more than a few things could last forever, parents, friends, places, etc. Robins Nest will never be forgotten, times change, people leave us, but this place will always be remembered as a historic and beautiful spot in Hawaii and television history. It will always be Robins Nest to me. Aloha brothers and sisters.
Criminal.
criminal-o'bozzo walks into office in 2008, worth $10,000, leaves 8 years later with $600 million..and owns Magnums estate...gee, that's not suspicious
Pahonu should have been a listed building now its gone forever and the buildings that have taken its place are ugly. Very little of the old gardens are left behind. The site is over developed with just the boathouse left behind as a reminder of its former glory as a set for Hawaii five O and Magnum P.I. Aloha.
Sadly it was in a bad state of disrepair it had to be torn down the house was falling apart.
Negligence should be unlawful when it comes to a treasured landmark such as this amazing estate. These freaks should have never had the chance to buy this place! Absolutely defies description how this place was left to deteriorate.
I was there at Pahonu 8 years ago, the old buildings, gardens and palm trees were beautiful. Unfortunately now in my opinion the site is over developed with new buildings that have no character or beauty. There are very little of the old gardens left and just the original boat house still standing. Pahonu has lost its enchanting beauty of what it once was. Especially as it was used as the set for Hawaii five O and Magnum P.I. Aloha.
I saw it first back in 2003 in all it's former glory.
I was there 20+ years ago for a Sierra Club meeting... and while the grounds were beautiful, both the the interior and exterior of the residence were in mediocre condition. The gate house, as I recall, directly east of the Kalanianaole Highway, was used for storage and was in poor condition. The guest house, closest to the ocean, was in the worst condition... with several 1/3" wide cracks running almost from roof to foundation and the exterior window frames were rotted.
So it’s demolished for something inferior?
Agree with you there
have they razed Higgins and Magnum's mansion to make another shack of wood and plasterboard? yankee
Bring back the Robin's Nest! Lads, meet me at the King Kamehameha Club. Rick, TC, Magnum and I will be there....Beers 🍻 are on me.
only someone as mean as obama would ruin something as beautiful as Robin's Nest what a jerk
Sadly the estate was in total disrepair it had to be torn down.

was just super sad to see this iconic place get demolished. We'll always have it on film of course but not the same.
💯👍What a beautiful piece of property... thanks for the film.
All these years and not one wealthy person stepped up to buy the estate and modernize it. Sure, the tourists/fans would be a nuisance but still would've been cool. Better yet, hgtv should have bought it and turned it into a weekly rental and or museum, like they did with the Brady Bunch house. Recreate the interior to match the show. But unfortunately it went to the fruit and his first man. 😒
Totally agree but the house was in a total state disrepair the roof and beams were all rotten it was cheaper to knock it down. I'm glad I got to see it many years ago.
@@alohapoppet6107 The restoration costs would've been chicken feed money to hgtv. They would've made that money back within a few months as a museum and/or a weekly rental. This estate is known the world over and fans would have flocked to it by the hundreds of thousands. Put the Ferrari, TC's Island Hopper Chopper and Minivan on the premises and you have a very cool tourist destination. 🏖😎
I think it would have been amazing to rebuild the the estate and keep it and maintain the beautiful property, but common sense prevails with the strong SAD fact that the property is where all the value is. Property in Hawaii is NOT in excess so they destroyed Robin's Nest and built 3 new homes there. It's located in Waimanolo Hawaii 🌟
