Dealer just found this on my truck yesterday. A clogged cowl drain hole they said is the culprit and all the cable/wiring under the floor is bad. 2019 F250

the sad thing is the EPA put the dpf in there to get rid of emmissions and it just destroyed the engine

Go look up diesel regen you do this through a scan tool to clean out any carbon build up
That is a manual regen being done with a scan tool.

The early days of Fords DPF regen process. I believe one of the biggest issues was that it could go into a regen below 25mph. Which would require gobs of fuel and accumulate lots of heat due to the amount of fuel being used to regenerate/clean the dpf. I believe the premise behind moving while regeneration is the exhaust is naturally warmer from the engine working. Requiring less fuel and less added heat to regenerate the dpf. Similar to how a truck can passively regenerate when being worked.
People. This is called a diesel particulate filter regeneration cycle. (DPF regen cycle) it dumps fuel into the exhaust to heat up the exhaust temperature high enough to where it burns all the soot out of the DPF filter. This is normal operation for diesel trucks made from 2008 onwards.

White smoke not burning properly, black smoke is inbalance of fuel to air so yeah not good
This is caused by a few things. 1 could be a stuck fuel injector. More likely 2 a source of oil is fueling the dpf. This can be caused by a bad turbo seal in the exhaust housing of the turbo was very common on 6.4. the dpf is usually pretty cooked by the time it comes in. I have seen Mercedes sprinters do this more than I have seen it on 6.4 Ford. I have seen ram 1500 ecodiesel Do this more than fords 6.4.
Supposedly this happens also if you put diesel fuel in the def tank
