I'm a seventh grader, this is my first year... Mastery is challenging but promising.

Working together to get something done. You can do it better with other people. It helps you gain new skills from one another. There's a lot of examples of this at Metro. Group projects is a good example.

We are focused on this from day 1! Interacting with peers, teachers, speakers, etc. Careers and college readiness, so when they leave high school, they are ready! Clear expectations and then opportunities for clear demonstration.

Such a great story about taking Algebra 1 three times.

In other schools, you have A's, B's, C's. At Metro, it's either successful understanding, or work in progress. This class took me multiple times... The first time, it was foolish, the second time I tried harder, and this time I'm really engaged.

Expectation is mastery... If you are incoming student, work ethic is key.

Presenting yourself in a professional manner is exhibiting Metro traits. It's important to be able to carry yourself with confidence. It helps people respect what you're doing. It's really important to exhibit these traits in all areas of life.

Critical thinking is learned.

What role do I fill, and what are we getting done? Divide up processes and tasks to maximize effective collaboration. Progress of responsibility as students advance.

Nothing significant gets done alone. Effective is the key term. Collaboration looks different at each step of the process.

I was a parent before I was a teacher and mastery was one important thing.
