HOME HEALTH NURSE TRAGEDY | ONE YEAR LATER | JOYCE GRAYSON
It has been one year since the tragic loss of home health nurse Joyce Grayson. A veteran nurse with a heart for serving those with mental health disorders, a mom to 6 and a foster mom to many, and who was a pillar to her community.
I encourage everyone to keep Joyce's family and friends close to your hearts during this time

Come with me on a typical day working the weekend as a hospice nurse. Working the weekend is similar to on-call as we can get called out to visits at any time during our shift but we also have scheduled visits we do. Scheduled visits will be updated in the morning and we receive report via our charting system on what the visit pertains to, which visits we (might) have to go to first, and any ot...

    Do you just automatically know what to do for wounds? Or do you get an order from the doctor and he tells you exactly what dressings to use?

    • @HospiceNurseAllie
      @HospiceNurseAllie 23 дня назад

      We always get an order from the provider, give them a description of what’s going on, etc. we may give suggestions because we are the ones actually seeing the wound first hand.

    Good video. I am an ICU nurse 24 years and now retired and became a hospice nurse. I really enjoy it but I work PRN and not full-time. Negative documentation is not taught in nursing school and the best help for me was a book that Amity staffing sells. It is a book that helps you describe decline in hospice patients. This booklet saved my life. I did not buy the large systems book they have but only the documentation help pamphlet. It is absolutely excellent and I am glad I found it early on because I am somewhat of a new hospice nurse only one year. It gives you the proper language to paint an accurate picture of a declining patient and the right words to ensure your patient maintains eligibility. Thank you for all your videos.

    Hey, if you get a chance, can you make a video giving tips on how to best comfort the family or do the right things on day of death? I don’t mean the call the coroner and the duties but I mean the things that can possibly make the family feel comforted. I don’t have a lot of experience and I am certainly open to what has worked for you with families
