Maiseyrika if you see this know that your so special to me and Im overjoyed to still be listning to your Aatahua voice/lryics
Kia ora e te Iwi. I have been asked so many times over the years for the kupu of my waiata 'Kimihia.' So here they are. I wrote this waiata when I was 17 pining for an unrequited love…as we do. This waiata was never recorded properly I sang it live once for Māori TV way back and this is the audio from that performance. Always pleasantly surprised whenever people ask about this one, happy to share for all those who resonate, tuuukuu 🙂 Kimihia (Nā Maisey Rika 2000) Whiti 1: E Karangahia au i tō īngoa Ko taku ngākau e kihakiha ana E te hoa, e te tau, e taku Poutokomanawa Aue te mamae e Aue te mamae e Kōrihi: Hoki mai Hoki mai Hoki mai Tēnei au e tangi atu e He aha tāu e huna ake rā? Whakarata mai ano ki ahau E noho ngoikore e Patu nei te kino Patu nei te kino Ma te aroha tāua kimihia... x2 Whakamutunga: Mā te aroha tāua e kimihia uuu E kimihia uuu E kimihia…
I was crying one day after loosing my nan and this song randomly played, I knew the words instantly and felt her near. I now play this when I miss her.
Wow 🤗 Absolutely beautiful Waiata, feel every word. Puts me into a quiet place by the sea being in the present moment thinking of my beautiful Mum, Dad & twin brother who have passed. My heart just melts, thank you for your blessing 💖
E karangahia au i tou ingoa ko taku ngakau e kihakiha ana..!! I yearn to call your name my ngakau gasp when i hear your name.. E te hoa, e te tau, e taku poutokomanawa aue te mamae..!! Thank you for typing the lyrics, translation and your memorable story of your mum. Arohamai to you and your whānau x Relating to a similar story of loosing my mum recently also. Mum's specialist believed we had atleast few years to be with her but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Stage 4 cancer suddenly ended her life within just under 6months. It happened so quick I never really knew how it felt to loose a parent till she was gone. Her b'day day after mine (7May & 8May) we both were supposed to celebrate her 50th & my 30th together this year, instead we buried her on her actual birthday. I miss my mum very much. I now understand the meaning 'to appreciate and love your parents' regardless how big the raruraru, to forgive, not just for others, but for yourself. Life was always challenging for mum after she lost her mum at the exact same age with exact same timeframe due to cancer. (I don't usually express feelings openly) but my heart does cry for you my mum. Our final conversation ended with 'i love you mum .. I love you son. But really I do miss you more than I will ever comprehend. I'm still healing, but I will try my best to keep going and pushing myself daily. Til we meet again. Thank you and I love you mum 💚💛❤

Ooooosh. Whiua ki te rangi - whiua ki te ao!!!!! Ty for the kupu with the chords.
Maybe substitute the d for a f#13 - X X 4 3 4 0. An ardijah sounding chord.
