Hello to the Languirand's! Thank you for sharing your trip to the Topsfield Fair. I haven't gone in years myself. Those French fries looked amazingly yummy. I went to Cidar Hill Farm in Amesbury last Sunday and got delicious hot donuts, their own honey and apple cider. It is so good. I have been craving the donuts since, they went fast in my house. I went with friends and they had been there before. I said I will just get a couple of donuts and my friend said oh no you are going to want to get a couple of bags. I am glad that I listened to her. For those visiting Salem for the first time the trolley should be one of the first things you do. You get a tour and get to see Salem's heritage trail as well as an Idea where everything is located. Not to rip the band aid off so to speak but there is 2 Salem's. Danvers which is the original Salem and Salem town the more touristy area. That and most tours are very similar i recommend the trolley and 1 or 2 others in my opinion one of the ghost tours and witch walk or movie/film type tours. The other info I need to give is this: parking can be a pain and costly- uber, train, ferry are the best ways to get around for further travels, Plan your Salem trip a half to full year ahead of time, summer , early fall or after Halloween is best time to visit know what kind of trip you want: Boston/Salem, Salem Spooky/supernatural, Salem Fun/Bars and food, Salem historic/fun etc., Lastly , research: Food, tours, historic, fun, educational, drinks etc. There's so much to do and places to go. The first time I visited I was overwhelmed and loved most but felt rushed. The trolley allows for on and off travel throughout the date of purchased ticket. The year in advance planning is to keep prices down plus if you get a hotel and airfare combo you can usually get cheaper trips. The summer is awesome but before fall gets less crowds and get in most places. researching really helps for example Salem is really pet friendly, recycling friendly, few bathrooms exist, Salem is accepting and warm for the most part, and many places during good weather have outdoor music and art sometimes fairs/ parades/ fireworks and even art/festivals. Go during the right time sometimes you can get a little extra in your trip. As far as food and drinks There is something for everyone but some places awesome some just mid. and there are vegan options at most places and some of the best bars and pubs and seafood have been in Salem. Words of wisdom Go Early to breakfast or dinner many places get booked or have lines quick and if you see a line take note, those places are known for a reason, usually they are awesome. Example: gulu gulu, reds and ugly mug are awesome breakfast spots. Do your research there are afordable places too. Take heed to my suggestions or at least skim it and your trip will probably be awesome

Its worth the drive to Amesbury for breweries, they have a ton of them. Also a shout out to Newburyport as well for food scene and breweries as well.

Hello! Happy Spooky Season! Great video of what to see and do in Salem. My sister lives out of town and when she comes up to visit us, sometimes she stays at the Hawthorne Hotel. She said that one time her and her husband were in bed sleeping and she woke up to someone touching her feet. She thought it was my brother-in-law goofing around. He loves to tease her. But he was fast asleep and woke up only when she screamed someone is touching my feet. 👻🎃
