I might be a fan of your podcast if after the end you added the 75min. running time and actually show the film. 🦇(And don't tell me it's do to contractual licensing, it's not due to public domain)
Crazy i just watched this movie 😂
Hopefully you enjoyed it as much as we did!
What’s wrong with your fucking voice grizzly adams? This film is great. Who cares if it’s a horror film you stupid dorks.
Although I'm happy that someone calls this trash, because while I do like this movie, it gets way too much credit for being one of the best slashers of the 80s, when there's way better slasher movies that don't get the recognition, they deserve because "they didn't stand out" despite the fact that most of them stand out tend to be not that good. It's like all of the good slasher films of the 80s were either some entries in the Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street series or more obscure films like The Burning, and The Prowler. I think this an interesting film, because it is more about abuse and bullying, but there's a lot of other stuff that you can read into. This is a pretty bad movie except for Angela herself who is an interesting character, and some interesting themes, but if you want a slasher movie, there's so many other options from the early 80s that are way better options, made by good filmmakers that are completely overshadowed by Sleepaway Camp.
Always love when someone name drops The Burning! So underrated!
@@itslayspodcast best summer camp slasher movie in my eyes just because Friday the 13th Part 4 doesn’t take place at a summer camp.
I find it funny that the gore was too realistic for censors, and that critics accepted movies that were unrealistic like the bloodless Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or over the top Nightmare on Elm Street and Evil Dead 2. Thank god for the Japanese and other foreign markets, who enjoyed these slashers, because they got the uncut versions which means that these films were preserved like The Prowler or The Burning. Unfortunately, they didn't get the uncut Friday the 13th movies.
Give us Uncut or give us death!
Keep it up guys
We will try! If only all horror was as good as this!
like, like, like click bait stupid
Actress Mia Goth injured a background actor on purpouse during that movie. What a bitch.
Rowan's voice and pronunciation with kill this podcast.
Once some more Patreon money is collected we will work on some sort of vocal cord removal surgery!
Willow Catelyn Maclay is a man larping as a woman.
Absolutely ridiculous podcast. Leave our picture show to real time warpers.
We love the picture show! One of our favourite musicals of all time!
🎶LETS DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN🎶
Roland, I'm I'm pronouncing that correctly, knows EXACTLY what's going on in the world. Y'all need to catch up, cause he's on another plane, and I'm 1000% on board with everything positive he has to say about this weird and wonderful movie. Seriously, awesome video, Troll was a massive influence on me as a kid, and I 90% blame it on my current lifestyle as a VA, and character/creature design artist. SUBED!
Close! It is Rowan! But thanks so much for having the only RIGHT opinion on this movie unlike some others I share the limelight with 🙄 Thanks so much for the sub and glad you enjoyed! -Rowan
@@itslayspodcast No no! Thank YOU!
I like the film very much The stuff that you guys are complaining about that should have been in the film they couldn't do because they didn't have the budget. So based on the budget that they had which I believe is less than 2 million they did a phenomenal job their films that cost 20 times that that aren't as entertaining.
For the budget this film is incredible!
The worst Leprechaun movie
It was definitely……interesting? LOL
I did watch this movie it is a awesome movie. Thank you 😅
It is a highly underrated film!
Blanche is the true villain. She led Jane to believe that she was the cause of Blanche's accident and paralysis. Blanche was also plotting to have Jane put away into an insane asylum. At the end of the film when Blanche fesses up about her accident, Jane sadly responds with, "You mean, we could've been friends?"
Such an iconic moment! Thanks for listening!
Great reviews of these movies
Thanks so much for the kind words and listening!
I kinda liked the dynamic of the family but as a horror this was very poor. I did not find it scary. The attempts to make the pool scary failed miserably and the dialogue became so dreadful it was literally laughable. A couple cool set ups and shots but overall this one didn’t work for me.
We felt the same! What a shame. Hopefully Blumhouse hits better with IMAGINARY!
2011 was a great year for movies
There were some amazing ones released that year. You’re Next, Cabin in the Woods!
@@itslayspodcast💯
Loved this movie
Lee Armstrong was the best part of movie tho
Colton highly agrees!

My fav movie of all time. Bela is the king of horror to me
Daddy Lugosi is always amazing!
you can find the odd palm tree on the coast of scotland we are in the gulf stream so surprisingly warm for the latitude
This is interesting! Would love to visit there sometime!
if you want to see Lee sing in another movie check out The Return of Captain Invincible
We will have to check this out!
i got the feeling Howie was a member of the Wee Free church a rather hardcore christian group in the north of scotland, women have to keep their hair covered, are not allowed to speak in church or allowed to attend funerals. Edward Woodward did play the lead in the US series The Equaliser
6:08 Canadian girl says " I was gonna talk aboot him" lol!
Seriously : No gay bars played raw punk music back in 1980 ! It was ALL DISCO / DANCE . THINK: those 12" disco singles . Admitted that by 1980; it would not be 'I Will Survive" disco- BUT it may be more "cutting edge" disco .
100% agree!
The woods aren't stock footage.
That is great to hear! Really were some awesome shots of them!
Arrow version is amazing in blu -ray and the sound track by waxwork records 180 gram 3LP vinyl 2018 is awesome ...
So jealous you have the soundtrack! The Bluray looks so good! Thanks for listening!
@@itslayspodcast thank you , they are my treasures!
29:30 fairly certain that was just a lie to throw off the main characters.
I wish the US rating system was like the Canadian one. Some teens were stopped at the podium last night and they had to get a refund because they didn't have an adult with them. It bummed me out. I wished I could've pretended to be their uncle lol. A random couple did that for me and a buddy back when the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake came out in 02 or 03.
Yes! Rowan supports all teens being able to see Horror movies! That TCM remake is underrated! Thanks for listening!
Wish part of the permise was that you could talk to you clone and in this way you could have a great dialogue between the main actor and his replica.
That would have been a real cool idea! Thanks for listening!
This movie is SO underrated. BTW, the motivation of the girl’s bullying was to spill her milk. You notice that she always knocks over her glass or splashes it on her, and later we find out that the witches are putting something IN the milk. Also the days that Heather doesn’t drink the milk are the days where she wakes up at night and sees the stuff going on, so basically thw witches used the milk to put the students to sleep, and the bully spilled her milk so she would wake up at night and hopefully see whats going on. I didnt get that the first time i watched it because they didnt put enough emphasis on it for me to notice until the second time ⭐️ also im really enjoying your podcast i just followed u guys on spotify ❤️
Yes! It is SUPER underrated! Thanks so much for the support! Don’t forget to follow us on all the social media’s and submit your picks for our anniversary episode!
This is such a great movie. Arrow films put it out on blu ray. Freidkin did a great job putting a slasher murder mystery against the s&m scene in nyc 80’s. I saw it it theaters when I was 18 people were in shock. I really liked it. It’s hard to top.
It is such an underrated film! The Arrow version looks amazing!
Can't top it
Halloween 4 is always going to be one of my favorites. Great video guys!
Thanks for watching/listening! Seems lots are nostalgic for this one!
I think you guys misread the AJ character a bit. He is supposed to a character that is a misdirection. They cast Justin Long who is usually a good guy in movies so when they bring up the rape story your initial thought is to side with him. As the movie goes on it becomes more and more clear that he is a bad guy. At no point past his introduction do they do anything that suggests you should sympathize with him. I feel like what you said about the direction is 100% wrong here, it is very clear that Justin Long is a bad guy at every point past his introduction. You get more and more sure he is a bad guy every single scene. When he finally meets Frank you even see the beach themes from his introduction decorating Franks room. At that point you realize that AJ and Frank are basically the same person, AJ just hasn't gotten as extreme yet. Then after that AJ does multiple things to make you like him even less. There is no uncertainty at all in the character as the movie goes along.
The more reflection on it the more I agree with all this! -Rowan
I loved loves this movie !!!! It's so underrated!!
Its one of our favourites also! Not nearly talked about enough!
@@itslayspodcast riiiight the writing acting and characters you cared about was super perfect. It wasn't cheesy like Bordello of Blood which I liked as well.
At this point it’s not even about Pride, Gore or the beautiful language of France… this is just a movie I can watch any time, any day.
Great comments this movie is a masterpiece I'm a big fan of Thai West anyway and I love 70s 80s horror pictures so this is a win-win. I saw it last night.
If you love that era of horror than you are correct! 100% a win-win! Thanks for listening!
Can’t believe I missed F13 this year, way too many distractions.
