I'm terrified of them as well, currently taking my second portrait painting class and feel stagnant and slow, but apparently it's part of the process :) I wish you luck!! It's only paint, right? :)
That first landscape of the cliffs and the view of the pond with the waterlily pads are both lovely. I particularly like your colour palette. Do you mix your own or use them straight from the tube? It would be interesting to know your choice of pigments.
Hi! thank you so much. I really loved to paint those. I do mix my own colors, I work with a limited color palette and I mix everything from that :) I added viridian to my palette for the painting of the cliffs :)

Very nice color palette! Could you speak to the meaning behind leaving the people faceless?
Thank you :) sure! There is not really a conscious (or philosophical) meaning of leaving some painting faceless. It is more of a technical (maybe subconscious) choice. Sometimes because it is a small painting and I just want to keep it very simple, prioritizing a moment (an atmosphere) rather than a very rendered picture :)
So evocative on the paintings. I would describe them, and some of the drawings as impressions. Just love it.

@@KarenKarlik-r4f Hi! I do use gouache sometimes lately (I think there is some pages from that sketchbook in gouache) If you are asking about the majority of the paintings in this sketchbook, they were made with acrylics :)

I am using Amsterdam acrylics (just the standard grade) I don’t thin the painting with water, I just use it like that (maybe some water residus from cleaning my brushes with) Maybe it looks opaque because of that I think :) I like to load my brush with enough amount of paint so I can have material to work with :) do you use acrylics also? I hope you have a lovely day also! 😊

Yes, at the moment I run out of acrylic paints, I had a few and in one picture the mini-tubes were used. But I want to invest in some, one day. At the moment I paint a lot with acrylic gouache =D

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy painting in acrylics 😃 I would love to see your acrylic paintings 😊I never tried acrylic gouache, just two tubes some years ago but I couldn’ t notice the difference as I was mixing them with watercolor and regular gouache. I do love the shiny aspect of acrylics and the fact that I can paint very bold 😊
