I just bought a 2010 LR4 with 140k miles for 5k. Beautiful truck runs very good but when you start it and sit in idle it has a little vibration. I assumed the timing chain wasn’t done but was hoping it would hold for a year or two but I think I have to address it right away (gulp) little nervous on how much this will cost me and if it’s in the 2-3k range then I think I might had made out for a total of 8k but that’s wishful thinking 🤞

They are timeless as I’ll drive any year if it looks taken care of.

I appreciate the ideas u like myself purchased a sport. It is a 2009 supercharged. Looks pretty and I like it as much as the HSE 2008 I bought 6 months earlier. They both look really fugging pretty side by side and shit in photos and videos and right there in person. I got the HSE $8000 out the door. $1600 @ 2 months replace the air sus with springs. $1600 transmission switch Solenoid and 4 new tires from United tire $280 plus install $80 + I tip big $40 among the 4 guys the shop had do the switch. Mother fuckers put a jack on each side and lifted up balanced on 1 tire while they did three then the 1… it was fun to watch from the drivers seat with ac on and hit my blunt. I’m driving a $100k car when new but I’m only $12500 into it. I was so delighted I got a supercharged sport 2009 in mint condition $12k a month ago. I can’t wait to have to go to work just so I can drive in style. People think I’m the boss because my ride/s be range rovers in mint condition. You really feel like you’re driving a Ferrari as eyes stare and heads turn nonstop for these babies.

i feel like those were simple parts to swap change replace yourself just a few tools a nice socket set screw drivers plyers rent or barrow fan clutch wrentch set and a bucket to catch coolant just my opinion from jamaica

So a 9 year old car with an ex owner who neglected proper maintainance has problems? Doesn’t seem like it’s the car’s fault, it’s the same problem as always: People buy luxury cars and expect them to be cheap to maintain like a Corolla. It’s an amazing car with a tremendous engine.

Gave up power for sound, that’s so backwards, it’s like an oxymoron. I mean the whole point of having that sound is knowing the reason it’s loud is BECAUSE it has power!

Bought those same projector lights for my car. They’re not meant for the sport, or any version that only has in word facing door lights. If your interior lights are not facing down words originally it will project poorly as I have that problem with my rear passenger doors. Works amazingly with the front 2 though beautiful color at night time as well would recommend.

I'd probably go with the older year Z4.

So to be fair, it isn't a problem with the vehicle, it is the fact that the previous owner didn't want to pay out to replace parts that have worn out. Instead they did a bad cheap fix and passed the problem on to you. Guess what, that happens with nearly all vehicles, when someone sells them on privately. They know that a dealer will spot these problems, so they sell it privately and hope you don't see it. I hate to say it, but I have been guilty of that in the past as well, hence I never buy second hand vehicles privately.

Was looking into getting a Land Rover …. Love the look of SUV’s but that’s about it. I just wished honda and Toyota made vehicles as boxy and aggressive as Land Rover, jeep and ram. But they don’t. I just see a ton of videos of how unreliable land rover’s are

Oh.. also changed all my interior bulbs to led🤪I was reading up on the landrover forums how to remove those ugly airbag stickers in the visors, it said to use a hairdryer and a needle nose pliers to do it.. Saw a guy do it on video👍

On my 2008 White Range Rover Sport HSE with White leather and same color wood as you, I added a front and rear camera, Naviks so I could mirror anything that's on my phone on to the existing screen, added a 19" flip down screen behind the sunroof, anything on my phone mirrors on to both screens with a toggle switch, dvd player under the back seat, tinted the windows limo in the back and a couple shades lighter in the fronts, custom mesh screens for the rear windows that are held in by magnet's, Oracle logo lights for all 4 doors which I had professionally installed with drilled holes, side signal lights I switched to clear and chrome bulbs so you couldn't see the bulbs, I painted the back grey strip white, added chrome exhaust tips, 22" audiobiography hyper silver rims with the floating center caps so the name stays level just like they have on the Rolls Royce and Bentley's, Switched out all the green and gold badges to black and silver on the inside doors and steering wheel and also the front and back on the outside, Black sheepskin seatbelt covers, center console and front seat arms rests and back seat middle arm rest.. I was visiting a friend in Texas and was having a private owned one same color etc looked at for $350 to make sure it didn't need anything major at the jaguar, landrover dealership and while I was killing time I walked around there lot and saw the same one in the Auction section.. talked them down to $9000.. The one I was having checked out, the guy was asking $15,000 and he had tan leather vs. the white and his had issues.. I had it shipped to Minnesota for $750 and the rest is history🤘I absolutely Love mine! Before I purchased this I owned a 94 740i Bmw and added curtains and a bunch of mods.. Last year they had that classic front end.. I still own it👍 I would love to know what u ended up doing to ur Rover for mods and if u had to put a lot of money in maintenance? Mine still only has 84,000 miles on it👍 Kind of scared things might start to go wrong with it and will cost me a Fortune in bills and maybe I should sell it.😁 Let me know how many miles u put on urs and how urs is holding up. I'd appreciate it🙌

The light housing is facing outward instead of down like the 2010 or above model, How did u get it to face the ground? Are the lights adjustable? My issue with my 2010 land rover lr4 is a coolant leak that I now see is very common thanks to the FORD MOTOR. My mechanic said your water pump is leaking he changed the water pump. Still leaked. He ordered another eater pump he said the new one leaked.took it off and realised it wasn't the water pump it's the front crossover pipe is cracked He looked everywhere for the part no one had one. He put it all back together with the new 2nd water pump.i wasn't charged he charged auto zone for the water pump replacement and labor to do it as well. I said what ammo going to do he said your going to have to call land rover charlotte .got home called. Won't no cost and labor till Monday but it's very involved and detailed and alot of parts have to come off and it's got a rear crossover pipe that will need to be replaced while the manifold is off. I'm not rich .I bought it because I've always loved the look of them and wanted one so got ot for $15,999 . And I've loved it for 2 1/2 yrs but now regretting this purchase. I've seen anywhere from $1699 to $3500 to have but done at a dealer but I don't no any good mechanics I trust to do it right. The mechanic that was working on it I don't trust because he got it wrong twice. So done with him. So wish me luck because I have a feeling I'm in for a shock tomorrow when they call and the bad part right now is it won't hold any coolant now .put it in and it runs right back out. So will have to be roll backed 45 miles to the closest dealer Charlotte NC. Lord help me

I would have put the vehicle on a dyno before and after to see if you lost power. An X pipe welded in might be a better option. Btw you can get a brand-new Beck/Arnley water pump for $80 lol, and they are just as good as OEM - I know this from doing my own. Put the right coolant in too. - should be Red, not that Green shit.
