The new replacement slider parts for DT770 have the new Y logo and L/R markings on the inside. They also come whith different plastic and metal pieces with a little ball for the stem - I am referring to the piece at the 6 second and 1:00 in the video. I decided to reuse the original DT770 plastic pieces - they are working and no need to remove them.
The dry tones are alright.
@@rexradar9297 thx!
Thanks for sharing this♥️
Thanks man 🙏🏻
Welcome! 🎉
its quite shocking how there's 2.3k people with the exact same problem, also quite shocking how this tutorial actually helped me assemble it in 2 minutes whilst i was trying for 2 hours straight
I'm looking at getting a this for my bass but I'm not sure now. All your sounds are like mud and I'm looking for clarity.
Thx. It is a digital delay. They all sound pretty clear. The 'mud' here is from the bass, the amp, the tonefinger.
@@gearforest9746 Thanks for that. I'm trying to work out which delay is best suited to me.
hey just another guy's comment about your great riff !! it sounds amazing ! nice review btw
Hey! Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy it! :)
sounds mean as fuck
Thank you! It is a great pedal!
I would like to know what you think about this pedal used on a bass, because its made for guitar. Do you think its useable 🤔
Thank you for the comment! Delays can be used on bass and guitars as well. On my bassboard I still use the Boss DD-7, but I like this pedal, too.
Thank you for answering 👍🏻
Why did you skip the part where you install the wiper? That's the hard part.
Thank you for the comment! It is a oneshot Video and one of my first ones. I am not sure what the wiper is, but I think it is the thing you just clip on the metal part of the headphone? I think that there is nothing to look for with attention. You just clip it on. Sorry, if I misunderstand. I am not a native englisch speaker.
Nice Sounds ......
Thank you! 😀
Thank you. Great demo, good stuff. I heard some hints at “Cowgirl In The Sand,” “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” and “Over and Over Again” by Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats.
Thank you! Seems to be a call for checking them out! :)
Super!Thanks!
Thank you! Welcome!
Esse pedal serve como um booster limpo? Caso eu deixe todo o balanço no zero?
Hey! Thank you for the comment! Sorry for my late answer. You can boost your signal with this pedal, yes. But it is not a clean boost. I suggest something like the spark mini from tc electronic for a boost on a budget. It is really good. On the other hand I like this pedal as a boost, but it will not be really like a clean boost. You are right anyway, You can boost with this pedal with balance at zero and use the EQs to colour or a little drive to het some crunch.
Great video! Easy to see the tempo button a big plus. Good luck!
Thank you very much!
Very cool and extensive presentation, thanks! If you use just the boost, do the EQ-knobs still effect the sound?
Thank you! Glad you like it! :) I think the EQ is not engaged while boosting, but the clipping section of the boost is really good (full range, mid, treble).
@@gearforest9746 I actually asked Daniel (Lichtlaerm) directly and you are right, the EQ knobs are in the "normal" distortion circuit and don't effect the boost itself.
@@NewAeonWarlord Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Great demo! I appreciate you going through the two knobs at different settings. This helped me understand the versatility of the box. Just purchased one! Thanks again
Thank you! Glad it helps! 😀
I believe that you have a great "clean" tone, and its drive interacts a lot with the pedal. The experience with a really clean amp will be so different (very harsh).
Thank you for the comment! The signal chain is at the beginning of the video. It was: bass into the bod400 into my interface and into the ampsim in studio one. You can hear the clean tone at the beginning for comparison. I think that this pedal is a Clone of the Boss odb3, but I am not sure. The odb3 has a very harsh distortion. I use a pedal like this mainly to boost the signal and use not that much drive. There are better pedals for heavy distorted bass, but this one is a good starting point.
haunting
Glad you like it!
I would keep the tone at about 30%-40%
Suena muy pedorro en bajo.
Gracias!
What song is the riff from sounds sick
Thank you! It is a riff I improvised for the pedal demo. Seems that I should make a song out of it :)
What the name of the song you played?
Hey! It is just some basic riff that came to my mind to show the aspects of the pedal. Some faster pick, chords and some slapping. So, no song :)
@@gearforest9746 ok, thanks! It sounds great!
@@andreyschannel9812 thank you! Maybe I should make a Song with that riff 😀
Good review! Thanks a lot. Without a lot or talks! Exellent!
Thank you! Glad you like it!
Funny way to test this thing. It s meant to Overdrive a Tube channel. And so there is complex interaction between the pedal and the tube saturated channel. Thtas completely absent. So the pedal sounds shit. I have a 4 channel Mesa. The sd-1 sounds worst on the clean channel, unless close to high gain sag and power amp saturation. Then it starts to deliver and shine. On the other channels - crunch, blues and burn - it truly shines from the get go. Because there is this tube saturation to interact with. Pls test it in the context it s meant for.
You are right for that purpose! Thanks for the comment!
legit non exaggerated comment from the heart: this channel is criminally underrated. please keep doing what you are doing! love the format!
Wow! Thank you so much for your fine words! I will definitly keep on doing pedal demos. Just besides my day job it takes some time. Thank you!
I got the impression this wasn't a very high gain pedal from other Demos - looks like they were wrong? Unless your LP has unusually hot pickups. Wonder if there's a simple tweak for more gain with lower output Pups? Thinking of getting this instead of forking out for a Hizumitas, I think with some EQ it could be similar territory.
Yes, the LP has pretty hot pickups! And they are humbuckers and not single coils. I think the Hizumitas must be really great, but did not try it, yet. This pedal can become very fuzzy. I think you could boost it and will get a lot of gain out of it. It is a pretty cheap pedal, so you might just give it a try. The only downside for me is the switch that activates the pedal by releasing the foot and not by stomping on it. Hope that helps! And thx for the comment!
This is a great delay , that added .8th is the ticket for me
Thank for your feedback!
Thx bud more videos the merrier on the sd-1
Thx for the comment! Yes, it is a great pedal!
I had a hard time liking this pedal... I played with its settings for 3 hours, and its just not for me, there are better options available... great video, thanks!

New subscriber here from Monterrey, Mexico 🇲🇽 I have this circuit but in a Behringer Vintage Distortion. I have understood that it changes the name and brand to this Honey Pot. Nice review bro, keep doing this kind of things ✌🏻
Thank you very much for your feedback! Yes, they seemed to house them in different shells now at tc electronic.
Nice demo video, thanks. I really like this pedal. I heard before it was a TubeScreamer like pedal, but I do not agree so much right now.
Now I see you told about the TS... Maybe it is great to boost a tube amp, I do think so. But it does not sound like a Tube Screamer to my ears. And that is not bad at all. I do like it.
Thank you for the feedback! Yes, it does not sound like a tubescreamer. You are right. I meant that it can be used as an alternative like any overdrive in front of an amp. It is worth trying different overdrives for different sounds. Glad you like the video! 😀
Hi,i dont know Much about gear,j was wondering if this pedal works with a battery or does it need to be plugged in all time?
Hi! Thx for the comment! It works with a battery as well! There are two pins on the sides of the pedal to open the place where a 9V battery can be put. To extend the battery life it is recommended to unplug the jacks. If the Jack is plugged It will slowly run the Batterie empty.
I think your pedal is broken...I didn't hear any chorus effect througout the entire video
Thanks for the comment! The fx can be very fast. It is more hearable at 6:20 for example.
I have the same one and I must say, I think your padel has an damage. I don't hear anything. Normally there are a big chorus sound with this one.
@@MrGroundstar Thx for the feedback! I used it in stereo mode and maybe it is more subtle than in mono. In comparison to other videos I hear no difference soundwise.
Bought new from amaz, for only 17€, and i'm very happy of it :) I like the fact that it have a sort of reverb in his sound.
Wow! That is really cheap! Congrats! 😀
Guys how was it possible to get it for that cheap? I've just paid 5 times more for a new one.
@@danielfaraday8197 I think they just went even up in price with this line.
thanks so much for this. seems like the tracking is spot on!
Thank you for the nice words! Yes, tracking is really good! On bass I would only use octave 1. That one I liked when at noon.
this video shows everything you want to hear and know about this pedal. excellent presentation of this product. I will subscribe to your channel. greetings from Greece.
Wow! Thank you So much for your kind words! :)
Oh yes. It's my favorite for lead, when distortion or fuzz pedal is too much. It cuts some bass, not the best for some power chord riffs. But it's always the 1st in my chain. High gain fans might choose something different.
Thank you for your thoughts! Yes, it is not the best for high gain stuff, though I like it as a boost sometimes to push a high gain amp.
@@gearforest9746 Sure! Much better with a high gain amp/drive channel than, say, DS-1. I feel DS-1 works best with vintage low output humbucker pickups. Not the greatest option with single coils and especially not for hot humbuckers. SD-1 is perfect with strats and my single volume knob tube combo.
Actually i run my tube head in such a way im gettn real eddie type snarl and wail quite satisfied
Actually because it cut some bass it IS great for power chord stuff in a band mix because it gives the bass guitar frequencies more room and makes your guitar stand out more, since there is less overlap. If guitar and bass have any frequencies that overlap, the guitar will always seem to disappear in the mix. But playing by yourself, yes it will sound thin. It's all about the context of who you're playing with.
Thanks for the sound samples, gassin for a used one at 45$ canadian....
Thank you! If you did not check out the super fuzz by behringer I recommend that one, too! But the rusty fuzz is fun, too!
@@gearforest9746 Heatd the rust fuzz. Going thru pcbs n schematics....... I AM IN THE SANITY POINT OF FUZZ
@@bertrandmajorik6589 sounds great! I did not manage to build my own pedals, but I'd really love to do that in the future!
Please do it again with dirty amp
Thank you for your comment. I will check that out!
If you can check out the Plumes from Earthquaker that would be great. It seems to take the best from the SD-1 and tubescreamer. It sounds awesome but all telecaster demo arent't good. I think you should do great the same way for the SD-1
I would love to check out the plumes! It seems to be a great pedal! It is on my list, but I think it will take some time until I can afford one. Thank you again for your comment!
Thanks ! Very nice demo here. Exactly what I was after since I am using a telecaster. It sounded really good. Creamy and never oversaturated. I am seriously considering getting one. Does the 13 gauge brings a more darker vibe to the Telecaster or it is the Bassman. I have a 2 different Marshalls but sound way brighter and crunchier on the bridge pick up. Keep up the good work.
Hello! Thank you for your kind words! Yes, I would say the gauge give it a little darker sound! I chose the bassman for the most neutral sound, but I guess you are right that it is a little darker than a Marshall amp! And yes, I find the SD-1 really nice for that creamy drive sound keeping clarity of the overall tone, too :)
Great demo. It is what I looking for 🤝❤️ thanks!
