Dukat trying to impress Kira in the middle of an imminent threat to the station [for his selfish reasons]... and Garak having no patience for it... epic. It's actually creepier when Dukat's backstory adds a icky layer in season 7... when Kira finds out Dukat, back in his days as Prefect of Terok Nor (DS9's first name) claimed Kira's mom for his "harem"... when Kira Nerys was 5 years old. Admitting this on what had to be a kanar-fueled middle-of-the-night subspace call. So... some simple math. Lets say Skrain Dukat was a military prodigy, fast-tracked in part because his father had political clout (before the trial Garak mentioned just to piss off Dukat). I don't buy Dukat being given command of the station... and basically the command of the Bajoran sector during the occupation... a posting that would be something between a "full-bird" colonel or a 2-star General... before he was 28-30 years old. Meaning he was probably 30-35 when he was taken with Kira Meru... when Kira Nerys was just 5. Now Kira Nerys is 25-29 years old... putting Gul Dukat, a married Gul Dukat, somewhere between 50-60 years old (Not the actor... the character's age.) So a 55-year-old married man is trying to just about dry-hump the 28-year-old daughter of a former "comfort" woman... ...and Garak KNOWS that. Because Dukat couldn't pick his nose without the Obsidian Order knowing how big the booger was... back then. So Garak telling Dukat to knock it off... was because Garak has a strong survival instinct (wanting to shut off the station's self destruct system) and really has zero interest in Dukat attempting to satisfy his ridiculously persistent libido. So rewatching this... totally rooting for Garak verbally slapping Dukat around. In fact... one of the series serious failures was not having a Dukat-Garak face-off after season 5's "In Purgatory's Shadow". Sisko was Dukat's end in the series finale. It should have been Garak being the last thing Dukat sees... in a post-series movie.

This is one of my favorite scenes too! Absolutely stellar moment. Garak is never exactly a good guy himself, but I love him calling out Gal Dukat's BS and exposing him to Kira, though Kira was smart enough herself to know what's up. The interactions between the two were always so good. Gal Dukat, all ego and posture and Garak, exiled and strangely humbled yet still a highly trained, knowledgeable secret agent and killer. They clashed so perfectly, I wish we'd seen them together more
