You can get a used zve10 & a sigma 16-28 f2.8 (which would be the equivalent of a 24-42mm on an apsc cam like the zve10) for less than 1500$ (keep in mind that’s a REALLY good set up for the price. Some apsc cameras like my Sony a6700 body only cost 1400$ by themselves no lenses no memory cards no mics). Youll also need a decent memory card and a wireless mic to complete the setup which you can get for an extra 200-250$ bringing your total to under 1800$! I know that sounds like a lot but once you start really doing your homework you’ll realize that isn’t that bad. Camera gear isnt cheap. Keep in mind you can also get cheaper set ups if you buy all used gear and really shop around. You can do pretty good with under 1000$ budget

It’s actually a Sony zve10 which is an apsc camera and it’s about 600$, it looks very similar to the zve1, but it’s the apsc version of that camera with less features. Zve1 is a full frame camera and has a bunch of features the zve10 doesn’t. That said, the zve10 is a great camera it was my first Sony camera and I loved it! You really don’t need anymore more than that camera as a beginner. My advice would be to get that camera & spend the real money on the lens, that’s what makes the difference your lens not your camera. You can shoot on a 10 year old 300$ camera & get AMAZING photos & videos out of it if your lens is good quality

So one of the major differences between the old rode wireless go & the new one he uses now is that the new one has 32 bit float internal recording & 32 bit float allows you to record basically as loud or as quiet as you want all in the same track & what it does is it’ll automatically bring the audio recording to a good db level so it doesn’t peak & ruin the entire track. The new DJI wireless mic does this as well. Before these mics, you would have to do this type of stuff in post & it could be a pain some times especially when working with multiple audio tracks. Def worth it
