Hi, I am shadowelite7,
I have been gaming on PC since 2006. I grew up on classic computer games and didn't care much about graphical fidelity. The only thing I care about is gameplay. I enjoy playing a diverse amount of game genres. I mostly play Classic and Indie games. I sometimes play AAA games too but most of them are sequels to classics or continuations.
I make reviews of games that don't use a review score but give the viewer a chance to think about whether this game is for you.
I take great passion in sharing my knowledge and experience in gaming. I hope everyone who watches my videos on this channel will like them and try the games I will be reviewing.

Age of Empires is one of the very first games I ever played and still play today. About your complaints section: I guess you had the Gold or Collector's Edition that was bundled with AoE 1? Weirdly enough AoE 2's soundtrack was stored as a 30 minute long track on the original AoK and Conquerors discs and unlike AoE 1, they didn't use Midi tracks as a fallback should the CD not be in the drive.
Makes sense, I do have the collectors edition

I can see them fine but I know what you mean in terms of other people's vision. Unfortunately, I don't want to go back and re-record 100+ clips without the gamma and other light options.

I know it's weird, but I never played the original; only the AoE2 and then that game's DE - pretty interesting how they evolved
I don't think it's weird. I know someone from work who has never played AOE 2 but only the first game. I played AOE 1 and 2 but never knew of the 3rd game until I saw an announcement trailer for AOE4.

The original AoE (and RoR) discs also came with CD quality music, not just MIDI. They were still synthesized though. And many editions only came with the MIDI soundtrack to save on disc space. The DE soundtrack is on another level in production quality even then.
Ah that's cool for the CD part. Thought it was MIDI sound font. But I have the Age of Empires: Collectors Edition which is 1 CD that contains AOE 1 and 2 along with their expansions.

Thanks for enjoying my review on Age of Empires. This is an introduction of where I first started playing games and where its leading from here. I have 3 other introductory video reviews to do and then I will make just about any kind of review from any game genre. Also, I've realized I published this review on the same month and date the 1997 release of Age of Empires came out (October 13, 1997). I guess this video celebrates Age of Empires 26th Anniversary unofficially. Unless Microsoft or Age of Empires youtube channel has replied to this comment to make it official. hope everyone enjoyed the video, subscribe and ring the bell when ever the next review comes out.
