Yeah, I have noticed a lot of bugs with the ai, especially with the most recent update. You now have ai starting a lap down or a lap up from the very start, you have AI racing like your not next to them and squeezing you into the barrier to the point where your car goes flying, etc.

Host the game. If you host the game you will start from the last time you saved. If you join someone else you will be wherever they are progress-wise. (Edit): Unless you play with the same host.
