Hello, what is the weight of your sword?

I got a wood stick that broke off a pallet that is perfect for a long sword that I use in my trailer as I whate for the fright to arrive. I'd like to have a steel one. But I think I would scare my co workers lmfao.

i am curious i find i seem to over extend my arm and kind of hurt myself in the doing it feels like im throwing my sword arm forward is there a way to moderate that action?

The first time i learned there were actual "greatswords" and they werent nearly as slow and clunky as theyre despicted in games, i became kind of obsessed lmao . I started practicing with a honshu polypropylene broadsword but now i have my very own blackfencer longsword which i love love love. The most satisfying part to me IS flow. When done right its so smooth and elegant. Almost an art.

I am about to buy a sword for initially mainly solo drills. i was thinking about a kvetun Feder. Is there a problem with tha? i can imagine that a sword like you might help with the sound it makes cutting through the air wit edge alignement? or is it the same with a Feder? thank you very much in advance.

Ich halte diese vornüber gebeugte Position für absolut kontraproduktiv und historisch daher inkorrekt. Erstens verlagert sie den Schwerpunkt weit nach vorn. Zweitens muß man sich fragen, was man als Fechter eigentlich schützen will... sein Gemächt oder Kopf und Oberkörper? Drittens nimmt einem diese Position viel Spielraum nach vorn. Da man schon so vorderlastig steht, muss man sich für einen Ausfall mächtig lang machen und macht seine Position damit noch instabiler. Man darf nicht alles glauben, was in Büchern steht - aktuellen wie historischen. Mag sein, dass man diese (höfisch angelehnte) Stellung zu Beginn einnahm - gefochten hat man aber ganz sicher ähnlich wie heute, nämlich mit dem Schwerpunkt über der Körpermitte und viel mehr Beinarbeit. Auch der Nachweis der Effizienz durch Eindringtiefe, berücksichtigt nicht, dass der Gegner instinktiv zurückweicht und somit die tatsächliche Eindringtiefe nur bei wenigen Millimetern liegen dürfte. Last not least: Wer ist so dumm, sich seinem Gegner freiwillig so weit zu nähern, dass sich die Klingenspitzen in Korb- oder Glockenhöhe befinden... außer natürlich, man propagiert diesen seltsamen Fechtstil, denn wenn man in einem größeren Abstand zueinander steht, kommt ein so weit nach vorn übergebeugter Fechter gar nicht mehr zum Zug. Er hat ja mindestens 50% seines Raums nach vorn schon durch die Haltung verschenkt.
