On Saturday 6th of July 2024 i went on a trip to the Direct Rail Services charity open day at Kingmoor Depot, Carlisle. It was a great day and very busy with some great stalls selling model trains and memorabilia, also a charity auction for locomotive name plates. Many thanks to @brandonmurdoch5510 for the footage. On a very wet Thursday 23rd of May, Carlisle Station was almost at a standstill due to flooding of the tracks at various places around the City. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley along with Class 47, D1924, Crewe Diesel Depot made it to Carlisle though on the The Settle & Carlisle Fellsman from Crewe. #steamlocomotive #trainspotting #locomotive #railway...

I used to think that trackside photography was the greatest. These aerial images are so much beyond that. I frequently see the local flock of oystercatchers take off from the fields adjacent to my home, but seeing them in flight, even briefly, is stunning.

@@schoolshortsno they don't, I would like to blame it on nesting/breeding season but their like this all year
@@schoolshorts It's quite commendable how brave they are. On this occasion the obstacle avoidance was flashing red on the screen when i could'nt actually see the birds meaning the drone was getting attacked from all angles.

I was on the Shap Mountaineer run with 5043, she didn't disappoint going up Shap and the soundtrack from where I was seated was just incredible.
Wow I wish I could go on a steam train😊😮
@@OwensTrainAdventures it's not cheap anymore, when I started travelling on-board steam railtours in 2012 it was around £69pp for standard seating. Now though you're looking at over £115pp for standard seating (depending on what the tour is and if you can use a discount code, you can get tickets for less). This trip with 5043 only cost me £99.

Great footage. I find it hard to believe that we had a mammoth flood in 2009, and one to a lesser extent in 2015. But now they say two of the pillar bases have started to erode. Just doesn't make sense to me as I would assume the bridge would have been inspected numerous time since 2009 and 2015.
