Thanks to @lcaptaintjl for letting me know when the ship was heading out @chuckg6039 if you wanted to come watch!
Nice! Really like how you added the Captain's name!
@@SpeakToMeInDots Thanks!
Hand salutes to all
👍
Which Great Lakes Freighter Should I Do Next?
American Integrity! Oh! I know! You can do the 1k footers, there's like a dozen of them, no?
@ The Integrity it is! And yea I believe there are 12 or 13 of them
Light my pipe..Gordon lightfoot...12 string guitar.. just sings it..
Yessir!
Had a hairy ass ride back on a Ferry from Isle Royale took over 6 hours to get back to Copper Harbor, everybody was so seasick, and Thanking God we arrived safe
That’s crazy😳
Beautiful ship ... Beautiful nostalgic song... The Clarke and Van Morrison.. Cant get any better than that 🎶🚢🎶
👍
Nice 😊
Thanks!
@ you’re welcome ☺️
Make me cry🎉
☹️
Thank you for capturing the Sam Laud!
Of course! Thanks for watching!
From one who lives over a thousand miles away from the Lakes...a big thank you. And heres that you will "Keep Rolling" these videos out to us!
I’m glad you enjoy them! I’ll keep them coming!
Nice video. Did you see the ship rocking in the lock? I'm planning a trip to the Welland Canal next year. I'm going to ride my bicycle the entire length on their bike trail.
Thanks Chuck! Yeah it was strange how they rocked side to side. Im actually planning a trip there as well, since it’s only an hour from my house. I recommend “The Inn At Lock 7” which is a hotel that overlooks lock 7, and you can watch ships from your balcony any time of the day or night.
@@Great_Lakes_Freighters How funny. I was just looking over the Inn at Lock 7 two days ago! It's definetely where I'll be staying.
@ Have fun!
Which direction
North
Man, Id love to see them pull into somewhere like that. Do any of them lay up in Lake Erie anywhere?
Yes, Erie PA is a big spot for layups.
Where is this?
Buffalo New York
Buffalo New York
Must have been a blast to see the bridge in person.
Yeah, captain Dave is great, I still talk to him to this day!
@@Great_Lakes_Freighters Much of ship watching is the people. They are the heart and soul of what makes the ships move and deliver product. Keep up the good work with your channel.
@ That’s true! Thank you Chuck!
Seen her in Marquette 😊
@@TOTALCAMARONice!
Laker!
Indeed!
In my ears, this is how a laker should sound. Nice capture!
Thank you Chuck!
Pretty cool. Beautiful day to be on the water.
Sure was!
The Munson has my favorite whistle on the lakes!
It’s a good one!
i love seeing these older freighters, keep up the great work.
I like seeing em too! Thank you so much!
The Anderson went North under the Blue water bridge a few days ago, still going strong. Grand old lady.
Yessir!
What a beautiful tribute to the Anderson and the Edmund Fitzgerald. Well done ❤ I had a cousin that worked on the Anderson that night. He was just a scared as captain Bernie was going back out there to search for her. ❤
Thank you! That’s crazy about your cousin, I would have felt the same way
@ your welcome 🤗
Beautiful day. The water is so beautiful.
The St. Lawrence always is!
@ I’d be sitting there all day lol
Nice video
Thank you!
It’s so hard to believe that it’s deep enough there for her.
So peaceful 😊
Glad you liked it!
What is she hauling? She reminds me of a cement hauler.
Yep! It’s cement
@ I thought so. It’s sad to know the 1927 S.T. Crapo is gone. But we still have the Alpena still sailing.
@@TOTALCAMARO Yep! The oldest ship on the lakes
Nice video of her. I had the pleasure of seeing her and the Anderson this summer here in Marquette Michigan 😊
That’s awesome! Yeah CSI sands just signed a contract with GLF so they’re bringing in sand like crazy. All of their smaller vessels have been to Buffalo except the Cason J Calloway which is in long term layup.
@ I hope she sails again. I’m still bummed about the Roger Blough. I wanted to be able to see her but unfortunately that won’t happen.
@@TOTALCAMARO Yeah, odds of returning arnt looking up for her
Love the classic freighters and nice salute by the captain,
The classics do just look better!
Thanks for the video. Love this old schooler.
Thank you Chuck!
Love the fact these ships that were built in the 1950’s are still running.
Its hard to believe
1st song I learned and played on guitar am,em, g, d RIP Gordon
🕊️
Was the Edmund Fitzgerald hit by a torpedo? One of the life boats had a huge round hole through its 🚢 Bow when it was removed from the ocean floor. Its in the museum. Just wondering if that idea was ever entertained ?
No, it was but by a freak storm which sent it to the bottom of Lake Superior
Port at last 👀👍
Yep! Was sailing for about 3 days since its loading port
John Munson? Deep horn.
Yes! That’s the Munson!
Being born and raised in Michigan,I will never forget this tragedy. God Bless the men that lost there lives on the Fitzgerald 🙏
You said it 🙌
I had no idea the Arthur M Anderson was still in one piece, let alone looking very well looked after and still in service. I thought their reason for existing had long disappeared.
Nope! She’s still sailing the lakes!
Bizarre that the “Arthur M. Anderson” is still on the lakes!
It is, that’s one old boat
@ >> Yeah, the one that went out to look for the “Edmund Fitzgerald.”
The Great Lakes have always been a fickled mistress
Nice video
Thank you!
Wow, that's one long freighter! ❤❤❤❤❤
Sure is!
Nice sound!
Glad you like it!
Sad day 😭😔
Indeed
Beautiful ship! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sure is!
Terrible design on this ship... 100 bucks say it dips when up to speed..
Well, that hasn’t happened since it was built in 1952.
Interesting video
Thanks!
These videos showing the last ship who saw the Edmond Fitzgerald and playing the song is getting pathetically old, social media has proven to make people more stupid and desperate for attention, views and likes, and who the phuk is copying who when we keep seeing this same dam video
0:18💀was that you screaming???
lol no, just some stupid meme.
Men doing hard work essential for America 🇺🇸....Rest in Peace😢
🕊️
Makes me tear up when you realize what was lost and the ripple effect it had on the people left behind. RIP Edmond Fitzgerald
😢
