Having aphantasia and its possible benefits...
My gut feeling told me to post this stream of consciousness about aphantasia and the possible benefits related to having no mind's eye... so here we go

Thanks for sharing, I have aphantasia myself and I correlate with a lot of what you said: very adaptable, very logical. I think the adaptability trait its related to not hold on to much to memories, and imagery, since we don't have them. So we are more at the moment. I'm a coder and I took advantage of the way my brain find to feel this gap (which is to use the left side). My brain is also very quiet, but I can create conversations with different voice tonality if needed, but must of the times is very quiet 🦗🦗. Another strength that you might have it due to the high usage of left hemisphere is the ability to learn new languages. I try to see a purpose on all things, so I believe its better this way, everyone has a journey, so when you feel ready and want to train your mind to use a little more the right side of your brain, take a look on Image streaming, its helping me a lot. Also: Any chance that when you were a kid, did you like to disassemble things, maybe curious about how they work? There is a research that links personalities with this neuro divergency, it make sense to me. Another thing, if you have difficult to follow a path in life, for example, there is some skill that you want to achieve, its also correlated to the lack of imagination, apparently vivid imagination create a kind of focal point in the future.

is it easier to sleep with aphantasia? I have adhd and it's difficult to sleep if I don't meditate
It might be but I'm not really sure. The research behind aphantasia is still new so maybe we'll have more clear answers in the future. Though I still have an "inner voice" that when I'm stressed can make it hard to sleep with, which is why I sleep with a podcast in the background to help 😁 Maybe meditation would be a better choice!

not many people can visualise things... you're not unusual
Research behind aphantasia and the lacking a "mind's eye" is relatively new so I'm sure there will be more concrete answers about it in the future. I'm just sharing my experience ☺️ But currently, it's estimated that only 1% to 4% of the population have aphantasia so it's definitely not the norm.
