I've got the same problem in a 2016 polo, defo the evaporator thats leaking. Anybody had a leaking evaporator and had any success with a can of this stop leak? Common fault on these apparently and might be asking too much for a diy repair kit?

There are similar videos on RUclips but I thought yours was the best. I would classify myself in the bottom quartile of mechanical aptitude. Any fool (like me) can take things apart but I struggle with re-assembly, my brain isn’t good at solving mechanical puzzles. My rear left side actuator failed on my 2016 Evoque, so the central locking wouldn’t work on this door which had to be unlocked and locked manually (if you could remember to lock it !). I tackled the job not really expecting to be successful but I was selling the car and didn’t want to give a buyer another excuse to knock me down. I actually watched your video half way through the job, I kept looking at different videos because of lack of confidence on my part and because they all say something different. When I moved the door card upside down and the two metal clips (square washers) fell out, which I hadn’t noticed before, I thought OMG where did they come from ? Surprisingly I worked it out for myself and then I found your video which I think is the only one that mentions those clips and I thought to myself I wished I’d found this video before I started. Anyway to cut an already overlong comment short, Iike some others have said I also removed the door handles to help to remove the actuator and nobody is more surprised than me that it now works !! 😳 Thanks for the video. To anyone else contemplating doing this yourself, it doesn’t take that long but set aside a morning or afternoon, it is fiddly and you need patience. You may need to buy some tools if you don’t already have a good selection, I had to borrow a long Torx Allen key from my brother to remove one of the screws that holds the door handle on. Different model years may have different screws and other fixings compared to the 2012 model in this video but nevertheless it’s all the same in principle 🇬🇧

Great video but as others said it's far far easier to remove the door handle and then remove both in one go. Can be assembled externally before putting it all back in. Thanks for the video

Got the exact same symptoms but when I've inspected the hose it seems to not have any cracks...any idea what else can it be?

Hi, Does anyone know that after filling my car up with 112g of Stop Leak, the pressure gauge has dropped from ~43psi/3bar down to (up from initial 0bar/psi) 38psi which on the pressure gauge comes as ‘Filled’ Is it still safe to fill up my 500g refill can. Will it overpressure the system. Mind you the AC is cooler now but is not the 500g of R134a required.

Great video and thank you! I’ve replaced the actuator on my front passenger door which was fine, even seemed much less fiddly than the rear. Now my rear right door has gone. However, I had the child lock on and so cannot open the door. I’ve managed to remove the door card with the door closed, but cannot manage to disactivate the child lock. I have some access to the actuator obviously. If anyone has any tips on how I can open the door, I would appreciate it! From there, I should be able to replace the actuator…

Thanks for the helpful video..just fitted a replacement to my rear near side door.. only thing I would say is the green clip can be fitted to the replacement actuator before putting it back into place.

For those wanting to know the OEM part number for the hose in this vid is, its LR066436, or LR024304. I am also ordering this part number for my own 2013 2.2 Diesel Evoque with exactly the same problem.

Poor video. Should have explained that there are different types of Gauge’s . for example , a R-1234F needs a compatible Gauge for this . Always check description of Gauge before you purchase .

Turns out this was exactly what was wrong with mine as well, top video and very detailed. Spoke to the guy at the land rover dealership and he said he had sold 5 of these hose's in the last week, absolutely shocking! Would say if you can't get a mini socket in like I couldn't then a 7mm spanner would be helpful to have as well.

Went into panic mode today my car went into limp mode, searched online and ruled out turbo issues as no oil anywhere, watched this video looked at my pipe and sure enough a massive crack in it I'm replacing Tuesday with this video on ! Many thanks !!!

Do you put the the gas straight after the leak repair or do you have to wait

Hi. Just used this video to assist my replace rear right on 2017 evoque. The innards have changed on the later model. There’s a plastic bracket now that can be moved to access the actuator. It is so much easier if you remove the door handle and replace the cables out of the door and then simply replace it in one go. I struggled to get the 90degree turn on the outer handle cable as described in this video (3hours) and if you remove the outer door handle there’s no need to fiddle through the lock hole to remove the green tabs too. There’s videos on here how to remove handle only two 25 torx screws and you can attach the cables to actuator in minutes outside of door skin and easy to replace the actuator and door handle to door as one item. Hope this helps and saves you time.

Do you leave the engine and ac on when you regas it (blue can) as well?
