    hey the motors sound like they're spinning but the wipers arent moving, are the teeth on either the wiper arms or the teeth on the whole assembly deal there that spins. does that sound like a proper diagnoses? and do i just pull the whole assembly out and take out that nold on the bottom side on each side?

    Excellent video. Thanks. I just completed the job on my 11 Jetta. Follow along, pause, do, repeat. Best part was oh no where do the wipers go back on where they were before on off position ??? My window not washed either and easy to align with the dirt mark on window. Saved !! Repairpal estimate to do the job was 888-1113$. Motor remanufactured was 160$ and little over an hour. Wipers came off using my official wiper tool but they’re a bit tough with minimal leverage on the turning bar so made an extension with deep socket and extension. Also good advice to cycle the motor before putting on the wipers. I was a little afraid of something being off from out of box motor and having wipers end up in the engine bay or in the yard. Thanks again. Also comments side comments were good like Milwaukee etc.

    I just did the same repair on a 2006 2500HD with a regular cab 8ft bed. Otherwise, damage is identical. Used a dorman front bolt in tank support and an ebay repro rear tank support. Did a ton of rust cleanup on the whole frame. The bulging between the frame and the rear crossmember/spare tire bracket wouldn't be nearly as bad if they just put bolts in the holes for the 1-ton helper spring bracket that would otherwise be installed. I had to hand form an emissions canister bracket from some old stainless sheet because that thing was as thin as a piece of paper in the spots that still existed. Glad to see there are more people out there fighting the good fight.

    It's pretty trivial to swap in a 5 speed. I did it BITD on my 84' T-Bird with the god awful CFI 5.0. The only thing that wasn't plug and play was the shifter hole. Non 5 speed cars do not have the hole in the tunnel and it has to be cut in. Everything else bolted right up. I robbed all the 5 speed swap parts from a Turbo Coupe. That sounds like the timing is WAAAYYYY off. That's spark knock.

    • @Simplethingscomplicated
      @Simplethingscomplicated Год назад

      On the 87-88 turbo coupes they have the hole in the tunnel. No cutting required! Due to the fact of the floor shift in the automatic. I may or may not have all the parts ordered/pulled for the swap. You are correct with the spark knock. Going to do timing belt and get the injectors cleaned up with plug wires, cap and rotor.

    I'm not going to sit here and watch 48 minutes of this nonsense. It's simple..... Your fuel pump is shot, all of your vacuum lines are rotted, chances are that ABS unit is probably seized. Probably needs a new key cylinder. Brake lines, fuel line, struts, shocks, probably a new ride height sensor. The electrical problem he was probably trying to track down was either key cylinder related, or the ground wire on the fuel sending unit rotting out on the back side. Good luck with that intercooler. If you don't get that boot seated around the top of the turbo, you are going to regret it. And you probably won't be able to see it when the vehicle is running. But there's also a vacuum line underneath there, but as soon as you touch the gas, if it's rotted, it'll suck the vacuum line closed. And create a loss of power. Now as far as that turbo goes. You can put an adjustable waist gate on there. Make sure you pull the overboost buzzer out from underneath the dash out. And, watch out for that shift cable, they have a tendency to break. In which case.... I got the last one in the country, as far as I can tell. And once that goes, you won't be able to take and pull parts out of the b&m catalog to fix it. All the parts in that transmission are obsolete. So, good luck.

      Well that sound was spark knock. I undid the spout and moved distributor and was able to get rid of the noise but it’ll come back if I plug spout in. It won’t idle great under 1500 RPM and doesn’t seem to have power under load. I was able to drive it around the block but it had a terrible time going up hills. Shifted through all the gears. Put new lifters in because the caps on some of the old ones cracked. Have decent oil pressure now. Trying to diagnose the no power issue. I don’t think it’s building boost

      If they're maintained right you can get 200K out of them. I have an 88 and am converting the expensive brake system along with deleting the turbo and fuel injection with a pinto weiand intake and an ebay stainless header. It may have been top of the tech line in 1987 but it's just too expensive to replace obsolete and expensive things. There's A lot that's interchangeable with any other foxbody as well. If the air ride doesn't work just delete it as well. @@Simplethingscomplicated
