Smooth....
No matter how much you watch. No matter how many times you try to wrap your head around what he does. The sheer brilliance of Kevin Jones is undisputable.
To this day, this still impresses me. Innovation, imagination, inspiration.
I miss these days……spent so much time there…Kevin and Dale and their friends were great dudes…still are
Two of the best ever. This is also my favorite time period for flatland, love this style of tricks.
At 0:17, he grabs the peg. Rider contact points have evolved, and to me it’s interesting. Late-80’s, for dump trucks/death trucks, riders grabbed the forks, not pegs. Also, riders seem grab the bar “bends”, not the full grips. Looks odd to me, but I get that it’s evolutionary.
Kevin and Chase changed the game! Period!
how long did you train to have this amount of skill level? greetings from austria!
I was there watching it. Austin Texas. I think I got 3rd place in intermediate class
The guy is unreal
It’s like physics doesn’t apply to him the same as it does for everyone else.
master fiddle faddler...
My dad's cool
Legendary!
EPA bien gracias
: )
The GOAT
the daddy.
Amazing video! Thanks! 🙂👏
Rad!
That floor back there was dusty, I remember riding on it
where is he now?
This is the guy who practically invented flatland..
Sorry, but no
He changed the flatland game, what they do today started with that guy and progressed into what we see now.
He's the Rodney Mullen of flatland. Everything the new school does has a connection to Kevin.
Not to knock those other guys with their hopping and bar spins...I would rather watch Kevin Jones with his awesome rolling tricks...The godfather of rolling tricks.
Wow!! Now that's what you call skills!! Awesome video, wish it was longer!!
This was just the intro..
Mention his name to a young rider, they have no clue! This guy is the OG of modern Flatland, the game would look different if it wasn’t for him and Mark Eaton quitting breakdance and going back to riding, fact!
The originator when i was 14 years in the late 80's and into the early 90's i did novice flatland ( i lived around the block from Jay Jones in Edison NJ) at AFA contests in eastern PA him Mark Eaton and their group were the ones who changed the game for good flatland freestyle was never the same after dorkin in york came out everyone was now trying to catch up to Kevin and crew's style of riding , I just remember sitting in awe and countless hours spent watching dorkin just to learn how to do a hang five and whiplashes ... he wasnt the first but when he came out it changed the game!!
Jay Jones, man. Yellow tinted glasses, and “foward Karl Kruisers” with the grip almost scraping. Regardless of who did it first, I saw him do a rope-a-roni thing where he’d crank the pedal by hand.
Where is he? Is he in hiding?
I recognize the MTF bars but what frame was that?
Best flatland rider EVER.
Unbelievable...he's one of the best...that quick style.
Now a days you ask them about Kevin Jones,Dennis McCoy,etc...They look at you like ehhhh...Those guy are the masters.
His skill, grace. style, and poetic nature of riding will make him the best and most important flatland rider for all time regardless of the skillful echo-esque chambers of half-packers and spiral rotations found in european, US, and other riders of present day.
Dave McCaig that’s cause they bit off of him
Key word here is Poetic Nature of riding, could not have been stated better.
a mix of Martin Aparijo and Kevin Jones
i love kevin and chase they are the best flatlander of all time
I would have to agree Kevin Jones is a legend simply the best flatland rider of my time his tricks were unbelievable I spent hours trying to practice his combos. I am 45 years young and I still ride. “BMX 4 LIFE”
"Yeah". Says the camera man. Great video. I remember we would cheer not for the trick itself but for when the rider was able to ride way with his feet on the pedals. These tricks are impressive! I finished riding my Trickstar in 1990. Tricks were getting too progressive for me. Thx for the memories.
You will be the greastest forever!!!!
Just seems very infectiously creative and way ahead of its time. Oddly innocent-before the commercialization of the sport. Way cool.
Damn he was killing it. 2:12, 2:18, 2:34 Just making that bike work! As someone asked before, anyone know who the dude is at 3:30?
Northeast MotorCo that’s Daryl Johnson. He’s now a music producer/dj. Look up DJ Thoro
One of the best in the world!!!!!! Kevin Jones
THE BEST
@@bigben1986 Do you know of any RUclips channel where you can see more of their videos?
@@cesarfabianalonso Type in Kevin Jones dorking videos. and he's in one called agro man.
@@bigben1986 nice !!!!! 😃
GOAT.
yep!
good
Kevin Jones videos should have 100's thousands of views. This is simply a failure of the whole BMX system that does not/ did not educate future generation BMX'ers. The system is broken.
SK Audio Visual I agree 💯
SK Audio Visual he invented breakless rolling tricks
We should tear down the whole system and restart. I was never keen on the name bmx either. I say that we change the name to cyclostyle as our first task under the new system.
Who was the black dude at the end?
Wideawake Nightmare that’s was me I invented that trick the rolling backwards decade
THE GODFATHERS
Brad Longenecker yes indeed
Where is this footage from? This one slipped by me all this time.
The godfather of bmx KJ
Always Kirk Moore
